With over 20 locations nationwide and a robust online presence, GrowGeneration is at the forefront of driving growth in hydroponics, Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), greenhouse and nursery solutions, and gardening centers.Position Reports To: CFOSalary Range: $190K - $250K / DOQPosting live until at least 10/09/2026Purpose of Position: The Vice President of Information Technology leads GrowGeneration’s IT function and develops and executes a practical technology roadmap in partnership with the CFO and business leaders. The role is accountable for reliable, secure, and effective technology systems; IT service delivery; technology investments; data management; and the responsible adoption and use of artificial intelligence (AI) across the company. The VP leads the IT team and technology vendors and oversees the technology controls, processes, and systems required to support the company’s operations, financial reporting, and public company obligations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Oversee technology business continuity and resilience planning, including disaster recovery, system recovery, backup integrity, critical application dependencies, and periodic testing to ensure the organization can maintain or restore critical operations following a technology disruption.Serve as the senior technology advisor to executive leadership, translating business objectives into technology strategies and clearly communicating technology opportunities, risks, investments, and priorities.Develop and execute the IT roadmap, priorities, service levels, and project plans in alignment with business needs, strategic objectives, and approved budgets; report progress, risks, dependencies, and resource needs.Lead, develop, and manage the IT team; oversee technology support for corporate, retail, distribution, and digital operations; establish clear ownership, escalation paths, service standards, and performance measures.Partner with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, and other business leaders on technology strategy, system selection, implementation, process improvement, and integrations, including ERP, ecommerce, and acquired businesses.Manage technology budgets, procurement, software licensing, vendor performance, contracts, and capital proposals; evaluate technology investments based on cost, security, implementation requirements, scalability, and measurable business value.Cybersecurity, privacy, and controlsOwn and oversee the company’s information security program, including identity and access management, vulnerability management, security monitoring, incident response, security awareness, and periodic testing of security controls and recovery plans.Maintain and oversee IT policies, standards, and procedures related to information security, privacy, data retention, acceptable use, and technology risk in coordination with Legal and other control owners.Maintain and document IT general controls supporting financial reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance; coordinate audit evidence, remediation activities, and control testing with Internal Audit and external auditors.Assess technology, data, cybersecurity, and integration risks associated with acquisitions, new locations, significant vendors, and major technology or system changes.AI and Data ManagementDevelop and execute an AI adoption strategy in partnership with business leaders; identify and prioritize use cases, oversee controlled pilots, measure outcomes, and scale solutions that improve productivity, customer service, operational efficiency, or decision-making.Establish and oversee AI governance in partnership with Legal and business owners, including approved tools and vendors, data access and confidentiality requirements, human oversight of consequential outputs, testing, monitoring, and employee training.Establish and oversee the company’s data management framework, including data ownership, definitions, quality standards, master data, access controls, retention, and data lineage where appropriate; ensure effective resolution of data quality and integrity issues across systems.Partner with Finance and operating teams to improve data integration, reporting, and analytics; establish trusted data sources and appropriate controls over key operational and financial metrics.Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience; advanced degree is a plus.At least 10 years of progressive IT experience, including at least 5 years leading teams, vendors, and complex cross functional projects.Experience with enterprise applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, business continuity, and IT governance; experience in a SOX compliant public company environment is required.Demonstrated ability to improve data quality and reporting and to evaluate or deploy AI tools with sound security, privacy, and human oversight.Strong financial judgment, vendor management, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to explain technical risks and investment choices to business leaders.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Compensation includes a salary commensurate with experience, participation in group insurance plans upon eligibility, paid time off, sick leave, parental leave and more.
