Through these partnerships and initiatives, South Florida State College contributes to the region’s educational advancement and economic growth.Role Description The Vice President of Administration/CFO is a full-time, on-site position based in Avon Park, FL, responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of the college’s financial and administrative operations. This role typically manages budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and long-range financial planning, while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and institutional policies. The position oversees key administrative functions such as business services, facilities, auxiliary operations, and risk management to support the college’s mission and strategic goals. The Vice President of Administration/CFO collaborates with executive leadership, trustees, and internal stakeholders to develop and implement policies, optimize resource allocation, and maintain strong fiscal stewardship. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading and mentoring administrative staff, analyzing financial performance, preparing presentations and reports, and contributing to campus-wide planning and decision-making.Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in financial leadership, including budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and strategic financial planning.Experience overseeing administrative operations such as business services, facilities management, procurement, and risk management.Strong skills in data analysis, forecasting, and the use of financial systems or ERP software to inform decision-making.Proven ability to collaborate with executive leaders, boards, and diverse internal and external stakeholders.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.Leadership experience managing teams, fostering inclusive work environments, and driving organizational effectiveness.Knowledge of higher education finance, public sector regulations, and compliance requirements is highly beneficial.Advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
