We partner with employers, payers and PBMs, health systems, consultants, and other healthcare organizations to expand access, improve outcomes, and demonstrate measurable clinical and economic value.The OpportunityWe are seeking a hands-on leader to build and scale FlyteHealth’s Data & Analytics function. Reporting to the CEO (proposed), you will own the data strategy, architecture, analytics, and measurement capabilities that improve care delivery, demonstrate client value, strengthen operations, and support growth.This role combines strategic leadership with technical execution, requiring close collaboration across Clinical, Product & Engineering, Finance & Revenue Cycle, Customer Success, Marketing, and external research and actuarial partners.What You Will OwnData Strategy, Architecture & GovernanceDefine and execute the company-wide data strategy and roadmap, aligning infrastructure and analytical priorities with clinical outcomes, client value, operational performance, and business growth.Own data architecture and delivery across ingestion, transformation, warehousing, and reporting, integrating EHR, CRM, communications, finance, claims, remote monitoring, and proprietary platform data.Establish longitudinal member data models, consistent identities, and standardized definitions across enrollment, engagement, care delivery, outcomes, billing, and costs.Ensure data reliability through quality testing, source reconciliation, lineage, freshness monitoring, documentation, and incident resolution.Establish governance, access controls, and approved data-use standards with Engineering, Security, and Compliance to protect sensitive health information and ensure responsible data use.Analytics, Reporting & Decision SupportOwn executive, board, operational, and client reporting, delivering consistent metrics and dashboards across clinical performance, member engagement, growth, revenue cycle, and unit economics.Analyze enrollment, activation, retention, marketing effectiveness, clinician capacity, utilization, and cost to serve, translating findings into actionable recommendations.Partner with Clinical teams to define and evaluate health outcomes, including weight and metabolic measures, assessing differences across populations, treatments, and care pathways while distinguishing observed outcomes from attributable impact.Build reusable data products, self-service analytics, and standardized reporting, supported by documented data models, metric definitions, and analytical methods that reduce manual work and improve organizational data literacy.Clinical Outcomes, Value Measurement & Advanced AnalyticsLead medical and pharmacy claims analysis to evaluate healthcare utilization, medication costs, total cost of care, and program ROI in partnership with Clinical, Finance, clients, and actuarial partners.Establish defensible outcomes and economic measurement methods, including cohort selection, baselines, comparison groups, follow-up periods, risk adjustment, and treatment of missing data, selection bias, and uncertainty.Support internal and external research through validated datasets, reproducible analyses, and clear documentation, translating findings into evidence that supports clinical improvement and client value propositions.Partner with Product & Engineering to prioritize forecasting, segmentation, predictive modeling, and AI/ML applications, ensuring appropriate validation, bias assessment, performance monitoring, and clinical and privacy oversight.Team Leadership & Operational ExcellenceBuild and lead a high-performing, appropriately scaled team across data engineering, analytics engineering, analytics, and applied data science, balancing internal capabilities with external expertise.Establish clear processes for intake, prioritization, stakeholder alignment, delivery commitments, and quality assurance while balancing foundational infrastructure with strategic and time-sensitive business needs.Own the data technology roadmap, vendor relationships, budget, and build-versus-buy decisions, improving automation, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.Serve as a strategic data partner to the CEO and leadership team, communicating insights and tradeoffs clearly, challenging unsupported conclusions, and informing clinical, product, commercial, and investment decisions.What Success Looks LikeEstablish the roadmap: Within the first 90 days, assess data architecture, sources, quality, reporting, team capabilities, and stakeholder needs; prioritize investments and align leadership on core metrics.Improve data reliability: Deliver dependable priority data pipelines and reporting supported by documented models, accountable ownership, quality controls, and appropriate access governance.Demonstrate clinical and economic value: Establish repeatable clinical, operational, financial, and client reporting, including a credible framework for outcomes measurement and ROI.Scale analytics and impact: Build a capable team, predictable delivery practices, reusable data assets, and self-service capabilities while advancing AI/ML applications where measurable benefits justify investment.What We Are Looking ForRequired Experience & Capabilities8+ years of progressive experience in data, analytics, data engineering, or applied data science, including 3+ years leading a team, function, or significant data transformation.Demonstrated success building or scaling a data function in a startup, growth-stage digital health company, or similarly complex environment, combining strategic ownership with hands-on execution.Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with practical experience owning cloud data warehouses, data models, integration and transformation pipelines, orchestration, testing, and business intelligence tools.Meaningful healthcare data experience spanning EHRs, clinical outcomes, medical or pharmacy claims, and financial or revenue-cycle data, including the ability to reconcile longitudinal records across imperfect source systems.Strong statistical and analytical judgment, including cohort analysis, experimental or quasi-experimental methods, outcomes measurement, forecasting, and healthcare cost and ROI analysis.Proven ability to recruit and develop technical talent, prioritize competing demands, manage vendors and budgets, and influence senior stakeholders through clear, commercially grounded recommendations.Experience delivering secure, governed, well-documented data products and reporting for nontechnical users, with an emphasis on quality, reproducibility, responsible data use, and measurable impact.Especially ValuableExperience in virtual care, chronic-condition management, cardio-kidney-metabolic care, employer benefits, or value-based care, including client outcomes and economic reporting.Familiarity with AthenaOne, Salesforce, Vonage, Sage, or comparable systems, and modern data platforms such as dbt, Snowflake, Redshift, Looker, Tableau, or Domo.Advanced training in statistics, health economics, actuarial science, data science, or a related discipline, with experience in real-world evidence, causal inference, healthcare interoperability, or production AI/ML.How You OperateBuilder and owner: Set strategy while remaining close to the technical work, from reviewing data models and analytical methods to resolving complex data-quality issues.Decision-oriented: Start with the business or clinical decision, select appropriate analytical methods, and communicate findings, limitations, and recommended actions clearly.Rigorously pragmatic: Balance analytical discipline with speed, prioritize work based on impact, and distinguish evidence-based conclusions from assumptions.Collaborative and accountable: Build trust across clinical, technical, operational, and commercial teams;
