Vice President of Engineering

Role Summary

We are hiring a VP, Head of Engineering to lead the India-based engineering organization. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for building and scaling a unified engineering team of 50–100 engineers in India, delivering against the global product roadmap, and serving as the senior technical and people leader for the India site.The role reports directly to the CTO and will play a key role in driving engineering excellence, organizational growth, technology integration, and a consistent engineering and delivery model across global teams.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn end-to-end delivery for the India engineering organization, partnering with global product, design, and engineering leadership to deliver the committed roadmap.Build, scale, and lead a high-performing engineering team in India, including hiring, organization design, career development, and performance management.Drive the integration and standardization of engineering practices, processes, and ways of working across multiple teams and technology environments.Establish and maintain engineering standards for code quality, architecture, testing, security, and operational excellence.Ensure engineering practices align with applicable regulatory, security, and compliance requirements.Partner with the CTO and global engineering leaders on technical architecture and technology strategy, including cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments.Serve as the senior engineering leader in India, representing engineering in cross-functional planning, managing stakeholder relationships, and acting as an escalation point for the India team.Manage engineering budgets, vendor relationships, workforce planning, and resourcing for the India organization.Champion engineering culture, employee engagement, retention, and talent development in a competitive technology talent market.Establish strong collaboration and operating rhythms between India and global engineering teams across time zones.Requirements18+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading engineering organizations of 50+ people.Proven experience building and scaling engineering teams in India, ideally within a global, multi-site organization.Experience operating in a regulated industry such as healthcare, fintech, insurance, or a similar environment.Experience with technology integration following M&A, organizational consolidation, or unifying engineering practices across previously separate teams or technology environments.Strong technical background across modern SaaS architecture, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), and data-intensive systems, with the ability to engage credibly in architecture and design discussions.Experience managing distributed and cross-time-zone engineering organizations and collaborating with US-based executive leadership.Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and people-leadership skills.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.Preferred QualificationsExperience in a regulated technology environment with complex enterprise products and platforms.Experience leading engineering organizations through periods of rapid growth, transformation, or technology consolidation.Strong understanding of modern engineering practices, DevOps, cloud platforms, security, and scalable SaaS architectures.Experience working closely with executive leadership on technology strategy and organizational planning.What We OfferAn opportunity to lead a large India engineering organization during an important phase of technology and organizational growth.Direct partnership with the CTO and global executive leadership on strategic technology and engineering decisions.Opportunity to build and shape a high-performing engineering organization in India.Competitive compensation and benefits.
