Vice President of Software Engineering

Organization: ConfidentialVP Engineering, India Location BangaloreAbout the roleA global engineering-led deep-tech company is seeking a VP Engineering, India to lead regional engineering scale across India , while serving as a strategic bridge across headquarters, product, hardware, software, and platform execution. This role is designed for a senior executive who understands how advanced hardware and software systems come together in real products, and who can build organizations that execute effectively across that stack.The leader in this role will shape organizational growth, strengthen cross-functional execution, and help the company expand engineering capability in a way that supports product velocity, platform maturity, and long-term operating scale.What you will ownLead engineering growth and organizational scale across India, where relevant.Build and align teams spanning areas such as systems software, platform engineering, firmware, validation, integration, and hardware-adjacent product execution.Partner with global engineering and executive leadership on organization design, leadership hiring, delivery priorities, and operating cadence.Strengthen execution across multiple engineering functions, especially where hardware and software interdependencies must translate into product readiness and delivery quality.Represent regional engineering priorities at senior leadership level and help create a scalable model for distributed engineering across regions.What success looks likeIndia becomes a strategic engineering hub that contributes meaningfully across platform, systems, and product execution.Regional engineering scales without losing clarity, execution quality, or leadership accountability.Hardware and software teams operate with stronger alignment, improving productization, integration, and release readiness.Senior leadership has confidence in the regional operating model and in the leader’s ability to connect technical depth with organizational execution.The company gains a repeatable model for scaling distributed engineering across a technically complex stack.Minimum qualifications25+ years of experience in engineering leadership across semiconductors, AI infrastructure, compute platforms, systems software, or adjacent deep-tech sectors.Experience leading large engineering organizations and distributed teams across regions.Demonstrated success operating across both hardware-led and software-led engineering environments.Strong track record in productization, commercialization, and engineering execution for technically complex products.Executive presence with the ability to influence founders, senior executives, and technical leaders across geographies.Preferred qualificationsExperience in a company expanding from growth stage to scale stage.Exposure to AI compute, semiconductor platforms, systems software, firmware, or hardware-software integrated product environments.Ability to operate across engineering, product, and customer-facing technical stakeholders when needed.Prior responsibility for regional transformation, engineering maturity improvement, or multi-site engineering leadership.Nice to haveMasters degree in Computer Science from Tier1 Engineering colleges like IIT,IISc,NIT,IIITproficiency in more than one of theseAI AcceleratorsFirmware with C++17/C++20/C++23Compilers with MLIR/LLVM/PytorchData center /HPCAI Research software AI/ML Algorithms.model Architecture,Pytorch, TransformersSkillsSemiconductors"AI Infrastructure"compute"systems software"CompilersPytorchAIMLAlgorithmsFirmwareUdayMulya Technologiesmuday_bhaskar@yahoo.com"Mining The Knowledge Community"
