Vice President, Software EngineeringRole OverviewMastercard is seeking a Vice President of Software Engineering to lead a strategic engineering organization responsible for delivering enterprise capabilities that enable configuration, onboarding, validation, certification, and lifecycle management.This leader will be responsible for defining and executing technology strategy, product delivery, platform modernization, operational excellence, and organizational leadership necessary to scale these capabilities and support Mastercard's evolving business needs.This is a senior technology leadership role for a strategic thinker, execution-focused engineering leader, and organizational builder who can operate effectively across product, engineering, architecture, operations, security, and business stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesLead the Settings Engineering Strategy

• Define and execute the technology vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Drive platform modernization initiatives leveraging cloud-native architecture, APIs, event-driven systems, and modern engineering practices.
• Ensure the platform remains scalable, resilient, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Partner with business and product leaders to align technology investments with strategic business priorities.

• Partner closely with Product Management to translate business strategy into executable engineering plans.

• Establish and maintain high standards for software architecture, code quality, testing, automation, security, and reliability.

• Improve engineering productivity through automation, platform capabilities, and AI-assisted software development tools.
• Ensure engineering teams consistently deliver high-quality, secure, and maintainable software.

• Recruit, develop, and lead a global organization of software engineers, engineering managers, architects, and technical leaders.

• Collaborate with Product, BizOps, Customer Delivery, Security, Architecture, Enterprise Platforms, and leadership teams.
• Influence strategic decisions and technology investments at senior leadership levels.

• Communicate strategy, execution progress, risks, and business outcomes to executive stakeholders.

• Proven experience building and operating enterprise-scale software platforms.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, APIs, event-driven platforms, and modern application development practices.
• Experience leading large-scale technology modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
• Demonstrated success delivering complex business-critical platforms in highly regulated or mission-critical environments.
• Strong track record of building, mentoring, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
• Experience managing large technology portfolios, budgets, and strategic investment decisions.
• Ability to influence senior executives and drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholders.
