Role DescriptionA Video Editor is responsible for editing, assembling, enhancing, and producing high-quality video content for digital platforms, marketing campaigns, social media, websites, advertising, corporate communications, entertainment, and other media channels. The role transforms raw footage, audio, graphics, animations, and creative concepts into engaging visual stories that align with brand standards, project objectives, target audiences, and platform requirements. The Video Editor works closely with Creative, Marketing, Content, Social Media, Production, Design, and Communications teams to deliver professional video content on schedule.Key ResponsibilitiesEdit raw video footage into polished, engaging, and professional final productions.Review footage, organize media files, select appropriate takes, and develop effective editing sequences.Assemble video clips, dialogue, music, sound effects, graphics, animations, transitions, and other visual elements.Edit short-form and long-form video content for social media, websites, advertising, corporate communications, events, presentations, and digital campaigns.Produce content for platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, websites, and digital advertising channels.Create engaging short-form videos, reels, shorts, promotional clips, advertisements, trailers, interviews, tutorials, product videos, and branded content.Edit corporate videos, training materials, internal communications, presentations, documentaries, promotional content, and event videos.Collaborate with directors, producers, content creators, marketing teams, designers, copywriters, photographers, and other creative professionals.Interpret scripts, storyboards, creative briefs, production notes, and client requirements.Develop appropriate editing styles, pacing, transitions, visual structures, and storytelling techniques for each project.Ensure videos communicate the intended message clearly and effectively.Perform video cutting, trimming, sequencing, color correction, color grading, audio synchronization, noise reduction, and visual enhancement.Clean and enhance dialogue, voiceovers, music, ambient audio, and sound effects.Balance audio levels and ensure consistent sound quality throughout the final production.Add subtitles, captions, lower thirds, titles, logos, credits, annotations, and other text elements.Create and integrate motion graphics, animated titles, visual effects, transitions, infographics, and other graphical elements.Work with graphic designers and motion designers to develop visual assets for video projects.Apply company branding, typography, colors, logos, visual guidelines, and creative standards consistently.Adapt video content into different aspect ratios and formats for desktop, mobile, social media, websites, advertising platforms, and digital displays.Create versions optimized for 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, and other platform-specific formats.Optimize videos for different resolutions, codecs, file sizes, frame rates, bit rates, and delivery specifications.Prepare videos for online publication, streaming platforms, digital advertising, presentations, and internal distribution.Manage video projects from initial footage ingestion through editing, review, revisions, final rendering, and delivery.Maintain organized project files, footage libraries, audio assets, graphics, templates, project files, and final outputs.Establish appropriate folder structures, naming conventions, metadata, version control, and backup procedures.Review completed edits for technical quality, visual consistency, audio accuracy, spelling, timing, and branding.Incorporate feedback from clients, managers, producers, marketing teams, and other stakeholders.Manage multiple editing projects and deadlines while maintaining high production standards.Coordinate editing schedules with production teams and ensure deliverables are completed on time.Assist with video production planning, shot lists, storyboards, filming requirements, and post-production workflows where required.Participate in filming or production activities when necessary, including camera operation, lighting, audio recording, and basic production support.Select appropriate music, stock footage, sound effects, images, graphics, and other licensed media assets.Ensure appropriate copyright, licensing, usage rights, and attribution requirements are followed.Maintain awareness of current video trends, editing styles, social-media formats, audience preferences, and digital-content practices.Research emerging visual storytelling techniques, cinematography styles, motion-graphics trends, and platform-specific video requirements.Analyze video performance metrics such as views, watch time, audience retention, engagement, click-through rates, and conversions where applicable.Use performance insights and audience feedback to improve future video content.Develop reusable video templates, editing presets, motion-graphics packages, transitions, title systems, and production workflows.Support marketing campaigns, product launches, promotional events, social-media campaigns, corporate initiatives, and brand communications with video content.Create video thumbnails, preview images, title cards, and promotional assets where required.Support basic animation, motion graphics, visual effects, compositing, and green-screen editing where applicable.Utilize AI-assisted video editing, automatic transcription, caption generation, background removal, object tracking, noise reduction, generative video tools, and automated content-production technologies where appropriate.Explore new editing software, AI tools, automation workflows, digital production technologies, and creative platforms to improve efficiency and quality.Maintain confidentiality of unreleased content, marketing campaigns, product information, corporate communications, customer information, and proprietary materials.Provide technical and creative support to content creators, marketing teams, designers, and production staff.Maintain professional standards for video quality, storytelling, brand consistency, technical accuracy, and creative output.Perform other video-editing, post-production, multimedia, content-production, and creative duties as assigned.QualificationsDiploma or Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Video Production, Digital Media, Multimedia Design, Graphic Design, Broadcasting, Visual Communication, or a related field.Previous experience in video editing, post-production, digital media, content production, advertising, or a similar role is preferred.Strong portfolio demonstrating professional video-editing, storytelling, motion graphics, social-media content, or commercial video work.Proficiency in professional editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent platforms.Strong understanding of video-editing principles including pacing, sequencing, storytelling, composition, transitions, continuity, and visual rhythm.Experience editing videos for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, websites, digital advertising, and other online platforms.Strong knowledge of video formats, codecs, resolutions, frame rates, aspect ratios, compression, rendering, and digital delivery requirements.Knowledge of color correction, color grading, audio editing, sound mixing, and basic visual effects.Experience with motion graphics, animation, typography, compositing, green-screen editing, and visual effects is advantageous.Basic understanding of cinematography, lighting, camera operation, framing, and production workflows is beneficial.Strong visual storytelling, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills.Excellent attention to detail and strong sense of timing, composition, typography, and visual quality.Ability to interpret creative briefs and translate ideas into effective video content.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Ability to receive feedback, manage revisions, and work effectively with creative and non-creative stakeholders.Strong time-management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Creative, Marketing, Content, Design, Production, and Communications teams.Familiarity with stock-footage libraries, music licensing, digital asset management, and copyright requirements.Knowledge of social-media trends, digital marketing, audience engagement, and platform-specific content strategies is advantageous.Familiarity with AI-assisted video editing, generative AI, automated captioning, transcription, motion tracking, image enhancement, and creative automation is beneficial.Knowledge of basic graphic design and Photoshop/Illustrator workflows is advantageous.Experience with photography, videography, animation, or multimedia production is
