We are recruiting a Producer and Director (Video Production) for a proposed contract supporting the Hospital Communications Department at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. You will lead the medical center's video work, turning command messages, patient journeys and medical breakthroughs into engaging video.What you will doServe as lead project manager for all video productions: keep the video content calendar, build production schedules, and handle logistics such as location scouting and talent coordination.Produce command messages, promotional videos, patient testimonials, educational content, event coverage and social media shorts.Lead pre-production (storyboarding, scripting), production (directing, filming, lighting, audio capture) and post-production (editing, motion graphics, color grading, sound mixing).Develop video concepts with the communications team that carry key public affairs messages to internal and external audiences.Maintain and inventory video and audio equipment, manage its lifecycle, and recommend new technology.Manage review and approval of all video content before final sign-off.Required qualificationsBachelor's degree in film, video production, communications or a related field.5 or more years of hands-on professional video production experience, with a portfolio or showreel covering all phases of production, from cinematography to post-production.Advanced proficiency with professional video editing software (such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro), motion graphics software (such as Adobe After Effects) and color grading tools.Experience in healthcare communications, military public affairs, or a similar regulated, high-visibility environment, including conducting sensitive interviews in a hospital setting.Thorough understanding of HIPAA and how to safeguard protected health information (PHI) in visual products.Project management experience taking video projects from concept to final delivery, including schedules, logistics and resources.Expertise operating professional video cameras, audio recording equipment and lighting setups.Work location and scheduleOn site, full time, at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, 8901 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD 20889. Monday through Friday during normal business hours (about 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), except federal holidays. Occasional support outside normal hours may be needed for events or emergencies. This position is not remote or hybrid.Pay and benefitsPay range: $95,000 to $130,000 per year. The salary offered within this range will depend on factors such as experience, skills and qualifications for the role.

The contract is expected to start December 1, 2026.After a conditional offer of employment, you will need to: complete a Government background investigation (SF 85 or SF 86) for a position designated Tier II, non-critical sensitive, and receive a favorable determination; obtain a Common Access Card (CAC); sign a Defense Health Agency nondisclosure agreement (DHA Form 49); and complete required security awareness and HIPAA training.Before your start date, you will need to provide proof of the immunizations and TB screening the medical center requires for contractor staff (for example, TB testing and risk assessment, MMR, Tdap, influenza and hepatitis B).Security clearance: you do not need a clearance to apply, and an active Secret clearance is a plus. The Government may require Secret clearance eligibility for these positions.
