We provide professional video, audio, studio, podcast, live-production, commercial, corporate, government, nonprofit, event, and wedding-production services throughout the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region.As our client portfolio and production capabilities continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Videographer and Video Editor who can produce high-quality work across multiple types of productions.About the PositionThe Videographer and Video Editor will capture and edit content for Maryland Creative Center’s commercial and institutional clients, studio productions, podcasts, live events, and weddings.This is a hands-on position for someone equally comfortable operating a camera in the field, working within a multicamera studio environment, managing production media, and completing polished edits.The ideal candidate must be adaptable. One assignment may involve filming a corporate interview, government project, or commercial production, while another may involve operating a camera during a podcast, editing social media content, or capturing a wedding.We are looking for someone dependable, professional, technically capable, and comfortable working independently and collaboratively with producers, clients, employees, contractors, and other production professionals.All required cameras, lenses, lighting, audio equipment, computers, editing software, and production tools will be provided by the company.Primary ResponsibilitiesVideo ProductionOperate professional cinema, broadcast, mirrorless, and studio camera systems.Capture interviews, corporate communications, commercials, public service announcements, documentaries, training content, podcasts, live events, weddings, and social media content.Work as a camera operator on single-camera and multicamera productions.Set up and operate cameras, lenses, tripods, stabilizers, monitors, lighting, microphones, and other production equipment.Maintain proper composition, focus, exposure, color balance, and camera settings.Work with producers and directors to understand the creative approach, shot requirements, schedule, and client expectations.Capture interviews, establishing shots, candid moments, detailed coverage, and high-quality B-roll.Record clean production audio when a dedicated audio professional is not assigned.Support studio setup, production, breakdown, and equipment reset.Assist with transporting, loading, unloading, organizing, and maintaining production equipment.Follow established media-management, equipment-handling, and production-safety procedures.Travel to client locations, venues, and production sites as required.Video Editing and Post-ProductionEdit long-form and short-form content for corporate, government, nonprofit, commercial, studio, podcast, event, wedding, and social media projects.Organize, label, back up, and manage video, audio, graphics, and project files.Synchronize multicamera video and externally recorded audio.Select strong takes, interview segments, reaction shots, B-roll, and natural moments that support the story.Build clear and engaging edits based on project objectives, creative briefs, scripts, and producer direction.Perform color correction, basic color grading, audio cleanup, music editing, graphics integration, and delivery formatting.Create platform-specific edits for websites, presentations, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, and other platforms.Incorporate client and producer feedback accurately and efficiently.Prepare review files, final masters, social media versions, captions, and other required deliverables.Maintain organized project files that can be accessed and understood by other members of the production team.Archive completed projects according to company standards.Meet established editing timelines without sacrificing quality or accuracy.Wedding and Event ProductionCapture wedding preparations, ceremonies, receptions, portraits, details, speeches, dances, and other important moments.Work professionally and respectfully with couples, families, planners, photographers, venue staff, and other vendors.Remain attentive and prepared during fast-moving, unscripted events where important moments cannot be recreated.Follow established wedding timelines, shot priorities, audio plans, and media-backup procedures.Edit emotionally engaging and visually polished wedding films consistent with the company’s style.Be available for scheduled weekend and evening assignments.Team and Client SupportCommunicate professionally with clients, producers, contractors, and other employees.Represent Maryland Creative Center appropriately at client locations, studios, venues, and public events.Accept creative direction and feedback while contributing ideas and production solutions.Identify technical or scheduling concerns early and communicate them to the appropriate producer.Assist with production planning, equipment preparation, location considerations, and shot development.Maintain a clean, organized, and production-ready studio environment.Report equipment maintenance and repair needs promptly.Support other reasonable production duties based on company and client needs.Required QualificationsApproximately five years of professional experience in videography, cinematography, video editing, multimedia production, or a related role.A strong portfolio or reel demonstrating professional camera and editing work.Experience operating professional video cameras in studio and on-location environments.Strong understanding of composition, exposure, focus, frame rates, shutter settings, white balance, lighting, and production audio.Professional experience editing both long-form and short-form content.Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro or a comparable professional editing platform.Experience synchronizing and editing multicamera productions.Working knowledge of color correction, audio cleanup, graphics integration, media encoding, and file delivery.Strong media-management and file-organization skills.Ability to follow creative briefs, production plans, shot lists, and technical instructions.Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in fast-moving production environments.Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering polished work.Professional communication and client-service skills.Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and revision requests.Ability to work regularly from our Glen Burnie studio under a hybrid work arrangement.Ability to travel regionally and occasionally nationally for productions.Availability for occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended production days.Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.Ability to safely lift, carry, set up, and break down production equipment.Preferred QualificationsExperience producing or editing corporate, government, nonprofit, commercial, documentary, or training content.Experience filming and editing weddings or other live, unscripted events.Experience working in a professional studio or multicamera production environment.Familiarity with Canon, Blackmagic Design, Sony, or comparable professional camera systems.Experience with gimbals, sliders, teleprompters, studio lighting, wireless microphones, field recorders, and production monitors.Experience with Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, or Lightroom.Ability to create motion graphics, animated titles, or branded video packages.Experience editing podcasts and creating short-form social media content from longer recordings.Knowledge of shared-storage systems, proxy workflows, cloud review platforms, and collaborative post-production workflows.FAA Part 107 certification or professional drone-production experience.Familiarity with venues, production vendors, or creative professionals throughout the DMV region.Work Schedule and TravelThis is a hybrid position based at Maryland Creative Center’s studio in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Remote editing may be authorized based on project requirements, scheduling, media-access needs, and employee performance.The position requires regular in-studio and on-location work. Production schedules may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, overnight travel, and occasional extended production days. Wedding assignments will frequently occur on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.Travel-related expenses for authorized company assignments will be handled according to company policy.Compensation and BenefitsThe anticipated salary range is $60,000–$75,000 per year, depending on experience, portfolio quality, technical abilities, and demonstrated proficiency in both videography and editing.The position will also include selected company-sponsored benefits.
