Job Title: Virtual Character Production Manager — AI Characters & Digital Humans (1 Position)About the JobWe are seeking an organized, technically aware, and creatively driven Virtual Character Production Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, production, and delivery of virtual characters, AI characters, digital humans, avatars, and interactive character experiences. The successful candidate will manage multidisciplinary production workflows from initial character concepts and development through animation, performance capture, AI integration, real-time implementation, testing, and final delivery.This is a hands-on production management role working closely with character designers, animators, performers, directors, writers, motion capture specialists, technical artists, AI specialists, developers, and other creative and technical teams. The successful candidate will ensure that creative vision, technical requirements, production schedules, resources, and quality standards remain aligned throughout the entire virtual character production lifecycle.ResponsibilitiesLead the end-to-end production management of virtual characters, AI characters, digital humans, avatars, and character-driven interactive experiences.Translate creative concepts, character requirements, and narrative objectives into structured production plans, workflows, milestones, and deliverables.Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including character artists, animators, riggers, technical artists, performers, motion capture specialists, AI specialists, developers, writers, and directors.Develop and maintain production schedules, milestones, dependencies, priorities, resource plans, and delivery timelines.Manage the complete character production pipeline from concept development, modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, performance capture, facial performance, and voice through AI and real-time integration.Coordinate character development requirements including visual identity, anatomy, proportions, wardrobe, facial structure, movement style, personality, behavior, and performance characteristics.Organize and manage animation and performance production, including motion capture sessions, facial capture, voice recording, animation reviews, rehearsals, and performance refinement.Coordinate the preparation, cleanup, retargeting, editing, blending, and integration of animation and performance assets.Work closely with technical teams to ensure characters are properly integrated into real-time engines, interactive environments, AI systems, and digital platforms.Coordinate production in environments using technologies such as Unreal Engine, Unity, MetaHuman, Maya, Blender, MotionBuilder, and comparable tools.Track the integration of body animation, facial animation, voice, lip synchronization, AI behavior, dialogue systems, and interactive character logic.Establish production standards and quality-control checkpoints for visual quality, animation, performance, technical functionality, and character consistency.Review production progress, identify bottlenecks and dependencies, and proactively resolve issues that could affect quality, schedule, or delivery.Manage production documentation, asset tracking, version control, naming conventions, approvals, and handoff processes.Coordinate internal reviews, creative approvals, technical reviews, playtests, performance evaluations, and final quality assurance.Manage relationships with external artists, performers, animation studios, motion capture facilities, technology providers, freelancers, and production vendors when required.Support production budgeting, resource allocation, procurement, and cost tracking.Identify production risks and develop practical mitigation strategies to keep projects on schedule.Ensure that character assets, animation data, performance data, AI components, and technical deliverables are properly documented and maintained.Develop scalable production workflows and repeatable pipelines for creating multiple virtual characters and digital humans.Research emerging tools, technologies, and production methodologies in AI characters, digital humans, animation, motion capture, virtual production, procedural animation, and real-time character systems.Support the development of efficient workflows that connect artistic production with AI-driven and interactive character technologies.Ensure that final characters meet defined creative, performance, technical, and production requirements before delivery.QualificationsMinimum BA/MA in Animation, Film, Game Development, Digital Media, Computer Graphics, Virtual Production, Interactive Media, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.At least 3–5 years of professional experience in character production, animation production, virtual production, digital humans, game development, VFX, interactive media, or a closely related field.Demonstrable experience managing multidisciplinary creative and technical production teams.Strong understanding of virtual character and digital human production pipelines from concept through final implementation.Practical understanding of character modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, motion capture, facial animation, and real-time implementation.Experience working with production tools and platforms such as Unreal Engine, Unity, Maya, Blender, MotionBuilder, MetaHuman, or comparable technologies.Familiarity with motion capture, facial capture, performance capture, retargeting, animation cleanup, and real-time character workflows.Understanding of AI-driven characters, conversational AI, behavioral systems, procedural animation, or interactive digital humans is highly desirable.Strong project management skills, including scheduling, resource planning, task tracking, risk management, budgeting, and delivery coordination.Ability to manage multiple parallel workflows while maintaining clear priorities, dependencies, and deadlines.Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively across artistic, technical, and production disciplines.Ability to translate creative requirements into practical production tasks and technical requirements into clear information for creative teams.Strong problem-solving, organizational, decision-making, and attention-to-detail skills.Experience working with external vendors, contractors, performers, studios, or technology partners is an asset.Ability to establish efficient workflows, production standards, documentation systems, and quality-control processes.Portfolio, production credits, case studies, or links demonstrating relevant virtual character, animation, digital human, game, VFX, or interactive production experience.Fluency in English;
