Virtual Primary Care Physician (MD/DO)POSITION SUMMARYThe Virtual Primary Care Physician is a core clinical leader within Our Live Doc's telehealth care team, delivering comprehensive virtual primary care services to patients across the continuum of care. This role encompasses patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, prescribing, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions delivered entirely through a virtual care platform.This position requires sound clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to build patient trust and rapport in a virtual environment, while maintaining full compliance with state licensure, scope of practice, and telehealth regulatory requirements.If you love patient care and wish you had more time to improve the quality and comprehensive nature of your patient visits, this could be a great fit for you.SCHEDULE AND WORK EXPECTATIONSThis is a full-time salaried role, with physicians working one of the following shift roles based on which options they express interest in working during the interview process and which roles remain available at the time of hiring.Candidates can be located anywhere in the world; shift times can apply to ET, CT, MT or PT time zones per provider preference.

• Tuesday - Friday, 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM
• Friday – Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Saturday - Monday, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Wednesday – Friday, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AMPhysicians may occasionally be expected to cover shifts outside their typical cadence up to 2 days a month on a temporary basis to meet patient needs.Evening shift roles are reimbursed 5% higher than day shifts, and night roles are reimbursed at 10% higher compared to day roles, with any shift starting in the window after 5PM on Friday evening and before 1AM on Monday morning receiving an additional 5% higher reimbursement for weekend work in addition to any evening or night incentive.ROLE OVERVIEWThe Virtual Primary Care Physician serves as the primary point of clinical care for patients receiving virtual primary care services, delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care across a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. Working within a collaborative telehealth team, the provider partners with nursing staff, care coordinators, and specialty resources to ensure timely, high-quality, and continuous care for every patient encounter.RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct comprehensive virtual patient evaluations, including history-taking, symptom assessment, and clinical decision-making.
• Diagnose and develop individualized treatment plans for acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Prescribe medications and order diagnostic testing in accordance with state scope-of-practice and telehealth regulations.
• Provide ongoing management of chronic disease states, including follow-up care and active treatment plans.
• Document all patient encounters thoroughly and accurately within the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and care coordination teams to support patient care, referrals, and escalations.
• Identify and escalate urgent or emergent patient concerns to appropriate emergency resources.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable state licensure, DEA, telehealth, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer case review.
• Maintain professionalism and clinical excellence in all patient interactions.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support virtual primary care operations.QUALIFICATIONS
• Active, unrestricted and unencumbered MD/DO license with no history of disciplinary action, suspensions, or active board investigations. A clean NPDB report is required and will be verified during the credentialing process.
• Multi-state licensure in a minimum of 3 states is required to be considered for this position.
• Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related adult primary care specialty.
• Active and unrestricted DEA registration where applicable to role and state requirements.
• Two or more years of clinical experience in primary care, urgent care, or telehealth preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records, e-prescribing, and virtual care platforms.
• Strong clinical judgment, diagnostic reasoning, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build trust in virtual patient interactions.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including sensitivity to cultural, ethical, economic, and access-to-care factors.IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILEIdeal candidates are experienced clinicians who are confident practicing independently in a virtual environment, comfortable with technology, and committed to delivering safe, evidence-based, patient-centered primary care.
