Virtualisation Operations Engineer

About the RoleWe are looking for a Virtualisation Operations Engineer to support the day-to-day operation and administration of the organization's virtualization environment. The role will focus on VM provisioning, resource allocation, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational support across VMware infrastructure.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform day-to-day administration of VMware ESXi, vCenter, clusters, and virtual machines.Provision, configure, modify, migrate, and decommission virtual machines.Manage CPU, memory, storage, and network resource allocation.Monitor virtualization infrastructure performance, capacity, and system health.Provide L2 support for virtualization-related incidents and service requests.Troubleshoot VM performance, connectivity, configuration, and resource issues.Investigate alerts and system events and take appropriate corrective actions.Escalate complex technical issues to Senior Virtualisation Engineers or L3 teams.Support VMware patching, upgrades, maintenance, and migration activities.Execute approved changes in accordance with ITSM and change management procedures.Perform routine health checks and operational maintenance.Maintain accurate VM inventory, configuration records, and technical documentation.Work closely with infrastructure, storage, backup, and network teams.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.3+ years of experience in virtualization, systems administration, or infrastructure operations.Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter.Experience with VM provisioning, resource allocation, monitoring, and troubleshooting.Basic understanding of server, storage, networking, and backup technologies.Experience working within ITSM/ITIL environments.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.Preferred QualificationsVMware VCP-DCV certification.VMware Associate or Professional certification.Experience with Veeam or other enterprise backup solutions.Experience supporting enterprise virtualization environments.ITIL Foundation certification.
