The Reporter will research, investigate, and report on newsworthy events, community issues, and developments relevant to the region. Daily tasks include conducting interviews, gathering information from multiple sources, verifying facts, and writing clear, accurate news articles and reports. The Reporter will also create content for multimedia platforms, such as online, print, and social media, while meeting deadlines and editorial standards. Collaboration with editors, photographers, and other team members is expected to ensure consistent, high-quality coverage and adherence to journalistic ethics.Qualifications Strong reporting skills, including news gathering, fact-checking, and story development.Excellent written communication and general communication skills for interviews and stakeholder engagement.Proficient news writing and general writing abilities, with attention to clarity, structure, and accuracy.Ability to produce and adapt content for multimedia formats, including digital, print, and social platforms.Relevant education in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field is preferred.Knowledge of journalistic ethics, local issues in Mpumalanga, and current affairs.Strong time management skills, ability to work under deadline pressure, and willingness to work flexible hours when news requires.Competence with basic digital tools and content management systems; photography or video skills are an advantage.
