Its regional referral role offers clinicians the opportunity to manage varied and challenging presentations while contributing to the ongoing development of critical care services.The OpportunityAs a Visiting Medical Officer in Intensive Care Medicine, you will play an important role in providing specialist care to critically ill patients and supporting the delivery of safe, effective intensive care services.Key responsibilities include:Providing specialist assessment and management of critically ill patientsDelivering intensive care services appropriate to the hospital's clinical capabilities and service requirementsWorking collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health professionals to coordinate patient careProviding clinical leadership and supporting effective multidisciplinary teamworkContributing to clinical education, continuing professional development, research and quality improvement initiativesParticipating in the on-call roster, including the ability to attend the hospital within an agreed timeframeAbout YouTo be considered for this opportunity, you will have:Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (FCICM), or equivalent recognised specialist qualificationsEligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Intensive Care Physician, including consideration through an appropriate international specialist pathway where applicableRecent clinical experience in Intensive Care Medicine appropriate to the service's level of careDemonstrated clinical leadership and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary teamStrong communication, interpersonal and clinical decision-making skillsA commitment to patient safety, teaching, professional development and continuous improvementAvailability to participate in an on-call roster and respond on site within a reasonable timeframeWhy Consider the Mid North Coast?The Mid North Coast offers an appealing combination of coastal living, beautiful beaches, a relaxed lifestyle and a welcoming community.
