The Opportunity:Puig is seeking a Retail Design & Visual Merchandising Manager to lead the design, development, and execution of elevated retail environments across our portfolio of prestige beauty brands in Canada. This role is responsible for bringing brand stories to life through innovative retail design, visual merchandising, and customer-centric experiences that drive engagement, visibility, and commercial performance. The ideal candidate combines expertise in retail design, architecture, project management, and visual merchandising with a passion for luxury beauty and experiential retail. This individual will partner closely with global, regional, and local stakeholders to deliver impactful retail environments that align with brand standards while meeting retailer requirements and evolving consumer expectations.What you'll get to do:Retail Design & Space PlanningLead the adaptation and execution of global retail design concepts across the Canadian market, ensuring consistency with brand DNA while addressing retailer-specific requirementsDevelop strategic space planning solutions, floorplans, layouts, and fixture configurations that optimize the consumer journey and maximize brand visibilityPartner with Global Retail Design teams to localize and implement innovative retail concepts, permanent installations, and experiential activationsCreate and present compelling Scope of Work documents, design presentations, mood boards, and creative storytelling decks to internal and external stakeholdersProduce sketches, technical drawings, and 3D renderings to communicate design intent and support project approvalsConceptualize, develop, and oversee the fabrication of custom fixtures, displays, merchandising elements, and retail environmentsCollaborate cross-functionally with architects, interior designers, fabricators, construction managers, and retail partners through project lifecyclesSupport the design and execution of luxury pop-ups, shop-in-shops, seasonal activations, and special retail eventsMaintain and continuously evolve fixture standards, material libraries, and design specifications across all Puig brandsProject Management & Retail DevelopmentManage end-to-end execution of retail installations, counter renovations, brand space refreshes, and new store developmentsOversee external architectural and design agencies in the creation of technical packages and retailer approval submissionsEstablish project timelines, milestones, and governance processes to ensure on-time and on-budget deliveryMonitor project quality, construction standards, and installation excellence across all retail initiativesDevelop annual capital and visual merchandising budgets based on business priorities, historical investments, and future growth opportunitiesManage cost tracking, budget allocations, purchase approvals, reconciliations, and financial reporting for retail development projectsNegotiate vendor agreements, design contracts, and fabrication partnerships to optimize quality, service, and cost efficiencySupport strategic retail expansion initiatives through feasibility assessments, project planning, and stakeholder presentationsPartner with contractors and vendors to ensure all projects meet quality standards, timelines, compliance requirements, and budget expectationsLiaison with Operational Manager to distribute information and materials to field team.Collaborate with Brand Managers to execute best-in-class eventing, leading development and implementation of immersive retailtainment element and event designVisual Merchandising & Brand ExperiencePartner with Global Marketing and Visual Merchandising teams to ensure local execution aligns with brand standards, visual directives, and retailer guidelinesTranslate global merchandising strategies into compelling local retail experiences that resonate with Canadian consumersOversee the development and execution of in-store signage, visual graphics, digital assets, merchandising tools, and communication materialsEnsure all retail touchpoints consistently reflect brand positioning, storytelling, and premium consumer experience standardsContinuously evaluate retail environments and shopper behavior to identify opportunities that enhance product visibility, engagement, and conversionDevelop and maintain visual merchandising standards, fixture details, and execution guidelines across the Canadian marketProduce high-quality 3D visualizations and presentation materials for internal reviews, retailer meetings, and project approvalsStay current on emerging retail trends, luxury consumer expectations, and experiential design innovations to bring forward-thinking solutions to the businessWe'd love to meet you if you have:Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Visual Merchandising, Retail Design, Visual Communications, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field5+ years of experience in retail design, store development, visual merchandising, architecture, or experiential retail environmentsProven success leading retail development projects from concept through installation, including space planning, construction coordination, budgeting, vendor management, and stakeholder alignmentAdvanced proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office, with experience producing technical drawings, construction documents, space plans, and 3D renderingsStrong understanding of luxury retail, prestige beauty, visual merchandising, retail marketing, and customer experience design, with a passion for creating elevated, brand-led retail environmentsExcellent project management, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across global, cross-functional teams and external partnersCreative, consumer-centric, and detail-oriented mindset with strong financial acumen; experience in a multinational organization, people leadership, and French and/or Spanish language skills are considered assetsCompensation: This position ranges from CAD $90,000.00 - $95,000.00. Various factors are considered when extending offers, such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
