We support children, young people and families through specialist one-to-one support, mentoring, groups, activities and residentials, helping them build brighter futures.We're looking for an enthusiastic, relationship-focused Volunteer Co-ordinator to lead the recruitment, development and support of volunteers across Oxfordshire. You'll build partnerships across Oxfordshire, inspire people to become part of our mission and ensure every volunteer feels welcomed, valued and supported.Working alongside our Oxfordshire Project Manager, you'll recruit, train and coordinate volunteers who support mentoring, family activities, children's groups, community events and our annual family residential. This is not a typical 9–5 role. Our work happens when children and families need us most, which means some evening and occasional weekend working will be required. Flexibility is essential, particularly to support family activities, volunteer training, community events and our annual residential.We're looking for someone who will:Recruit and inspire new volunteers from across Oxfordshire.Build relationships with local communities, businesses, universities and voluntary organisations.Deliver a safe and engaging volunteer recruitment and induction process.Support, supervise and develop volunteers throughout their journey with us.Help create a positive, inclusive and rewarding volunteer experience.Ensure high standards of safeguarding and safer recruitment.Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure volunteers are available where they are needed most.About youYou'll be someone who enjoys bringing people together and inspiring others to make a real difference in the lives of children and families.You'll have:Experience of recruiting, coordinating or managing volunteers, staff or community programmes.Experience of working with children, young people and vulnerable families.A trauma-informed approach, with an understanding of the impact of adversity and how to support people with empathy, compassion and appropriate boundaries.A sound understanding of safeguarding and safer working practices.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a wide range of people.Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.Confidence working independently while contributing positively as part of a supportive team.A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children affected by parental imprisonment.Why join us?This is an exciting opportunity to help shape an innovative county-wide model of support for children affected by parental imprisonment.
