The expanding product suite allows payroll processors, HR platforms, and workforce management systems to integrate real-time pay capabilities directly into their ecosystems. This includes certified partnerships within major HCM environments, and distribution through established marketplace channels, positioning the company as foundational infrastructure within the modern payroll stack.The RoleThe VP Controller will own the entire controllership function, overseeing accounting, financialreporting, compliance, and operational finance processes. This role is highly visible and hands-on, partnering closely with FP&A, Product, and executive leadership to support growth strategy,capital allocation, product expansion, and operational decisions. The VP Controller will also workclosely with forward-facing systems, ensuring that financial reporting, metrics, and operationalinsights are integrated into tools and dashboards used across the business.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the end-to-end controllership function, including month-end close, GAAP financial reporting, audits, and internal controlsPartner with FP&A on forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning, and scenario modeling to support strategic decisionsEnsure compliance with all relevant regulatory, tax, and credit facility requirementsDevelop, document, and continuously improve finance processes, controls, and operational efficiencyManage cash, liquidity, and working capital planning in partnership with the executive teamSupport financial analysis related to new embedded B2B product rollouts, platform partnerships, and marketplace distribution modelsBuild, mentor, and scale a high-performing finance and accounting teamServe as a strategic partner to the CFO and executive leadership, providing insights and recommendations that drive business growthRequirementsProven experience as a Controller or VP of Finance in a tech startup or high-growth environmentDemonstrated ownership of full controllership function, including financial reporting, audits, and internal controlsStrong understanding of GAAP, accounting processes, and regulatory complianceExperience leading and developing finance teams in a fast-scaling environmentComfort operating in a hands-on, entrepreneurial setting with high visibility to executive leadershipNice to HaveExperience implementing financial systems and processes to enable growthFamiliarity with fintech, SaaS, embedded finance, payroll integrations, or payments businessesExposure to strategic initiatives like M&A, new product launches, integrations, or scale-phase operationsCompensation: $275k–$350k base + bonus + equity
