Through our landmark joint ventures with highly regarded Saudi resource companies, and our own targeted exploration prospects, we are developing a new benchmark for resource development while also actively contributing to the development of the resource sector in Saudi.Role Description:The Vice President Finance and Administration’s primary purpose is to be the senior executive accountable for the effective and efficient delivery of the following functions within Midana Exploration Company (MEC) and, where appropriate, related KSA entities: Finance and Commercial (CFO), Procurement, HR (recruitment, onboarding, payroll, visas), Legal, Corporate Governance and Government Compliance Reporting, and Office Administration.The role will focus on supporting the rapid establishment of exploration and operating mining assets in KSA, through input to corporate functions enabling target identification, and rapidly undertaking studies and projects to deliver high-value operational assets. This role is based in Jeddah, with the expectation of business travel to both Riyadh, other JV offices throughout KSA and Australia.
Responsibilities
Finance & CommercialDirect and oversee all finance and commercial functions of MEC and related KSA entities in a capacity analogous to a CFOEnsure all finance reporting to the MEC Board and related KSA entities is accurate and timely, consistent with corporate and government reporting obligationsEnsure MEC treasury function is maintained to support the technical/commercial objectives of MEC and related KSA entitiesIn coordination with the VP Studies and Projects, accountability for the development and management of MEC’s consolidated operating and capital budgetHRDirect and oversee the efficient and effective delivery of HR functions to all KSA entities including recruitment, onboarding, policies and procedures related to HR, payroll, leave, travel, immigration and employee benefits management, visa and government portal managementEnsure effective policies and procedures are in place to both attract and retain high-quality human resources into the company including all onboarding activitiesManage MEC Saudization obligations in line with government regulation and corporate objectivesEnsure the MEC organizational structure is efficient and effective and recruitment plans are aligned with the Company’s growth stages and projects in the KingdomEstablish effective frameworks for performance management, leadership development, succession planning, compensation and benefits, ensuring the development of national capabilities and the retention of talent required to achieve the Company’s strategic objectivesCommercial & ProcurementDevelop and oversee MEC’s procurement function including policies and procedures ensuring MEC receives optimized value for all goods and services via strategic sourcing approach and leveraging the procurement power of HPPL where appropriate.In coordination with the VP Studies and Projects, develop the framework for the qualification, evaluation, and management of suppliers and contractors, while promoting local content, monitoring performance, managing risks, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and contractual termsProvide commercial support to all functions including tendering and contracting supportLegal and Corporate GovernanceLead the development and implementation of legal policies, procedures, and corporate governance frameworks, and provide legal and strategic advice to the CEO and Board, and Committees on investments, joint ventures, material transactions, and project development decisions drawing on support from external KSA legal expertise where requiredEnsure all statutory reporting and corporate governance commitments and obligations are managed efficiently, effectively and in compliance with legal obligationsCoordination with HPPL Legal on all legal matters related to HPPL’s activities in KSAAdministrationEnsure the efficient and effective management of the administration function of MEC including office, travel and vehicle logisticsExperience:Minimum of 15-20 years of leadership experience in financial and corporate governance in KSA with extensive experience within the mining industryDemonstrated track record of managing and delivering timely and accurate corporate and financial reports to government and company BoardsSubstantial experience in managing relationships with Government entitiesProven leadership experience in managing multi-disciplinary financial, commercial, HR and legal teamsExtensive knowledge of KSA's mining, corporate governance and financial reporting regulations
Qualifications
A citizen of the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia.Bachelor’s degree in Finance (required).Master’s degree or PhD in Finance and or Business Administration (MBA) is highly desirableValid KSA driving licenseFunctional & Technical Skills:Deep expertise in finance and administration of large mining companies within KSA.Extensive experience in the corporate governance and legal requirements related to mining and exploration companies operating within KSAStrong strategic planning and commercial acumen, with experience managing multi-million dollar decisions and outcomes.Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder relationship management skills.Exceptional communication and reporting skills, with the ability to present financial and corporate governance information to senior executives and board members.Native Arabic speaker. Written and oral fluency in English is required.Work Location:The role is primarily based in the Midana Exploration Company’s office in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.Requires travel to Riyadh and other JV offices throughout the Kingdom, including travel to HPPL offices Australia as required.
