VP of Operations

RoleThe Vice President of Operations will provide leadership for a growing third-party logistics (3PL) and warehousing operation, overseeing day-to-day business performance across warehouse operations, customer service, transportation coordination, and financial execution.This individual will be responsible for managing the overall operation, driving efficiency, developing teams, and ensuring exceptional service delivery for a diverse customer base across retail and consumer goods sectors.ResponsibilitiesLead all warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution.Oversee office and warehouse personnel, including supervisors, customer service representatives, and floor operations teams.Manage workforce planning, staffing, organizational development, and succession planning initiatives.Drive operational performance through KPI tracking, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.Own customer relationships, ensuring high levels of service and responsiveness for key retail and distribution accounts.Partner with clients, vendors, carriers, and internal stakeholders to optimize logistics performance.Oversee billing, invoicing, account management, and operational financial performance.Develop and implement operational strategies that support business growth and profitability.Establish best practices across warehousing, inventory management, shipping, receiving, and fulfillment functions.Mentor and develop management teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.Support executive leadership with reporting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.Ensure compliance with all company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.Requirements5+ years of leadership experience within warehousing, distribution, logistics, or third-party logistics (3PL) environments.Proven experience managing large warehouse operations and multi-level teams.Demonstrated success building, developing, and leading high-performing operations teams.Experience overseeing customer service, warehouse operations, transportation coordination, and financial processes.Strong understanding of 3PL operations, fulfillment, inventory management, and supply chain execution.Experience managing customer relationships across retail, consumer goods, or general merchandise industries.Proven ability to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability.Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, billing, reporting, and performance management.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and support continued company growth.Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.Ideal Background:3PL warehousing and distribution leadershipRetail and consumer goods logisticsFulfillment center operationsWarehouse general managementMulti-site or high-volume distribution operationsExperience leading both office and warehouse staff populations
