VP - Private Markets Secondary Data & AI

Position SummaryThe organization is seeking a senior-level Vice President to lead its Secondary Data Strategy within the private markets sector. This role focuses on managing analytics, AI, automation, and client data products, emphasizing judgment-heavy and design-oriented tasks. The successful candidate will oversee the intelligence layer supporting data strategy, including AI-driven data extraction, client datasets, and advanced reporting, while facilitating cross-functional collaboration with business and technology stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the analytics and data product initiatives to convert business needs into scalable reports, insights, and workflows.Design and improve the intelligence layer supporting secondary investment data, including standardized outputs, analytical views, and deliverables for clients.Drive AI- and automation-powered data extraction initiatives to enhance efficiency, consistency, and scalability in capturing and structuring investment and market data.Oversee the development and maintenance of client and RFP datasets, ensuring data utility, presentation readiness, and stakeholder alignment.Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including investment, product, technology, data management, and operations—to prioritize and implement strategic initiatives.Establish data standards, governance practices, and quality controls for critical datasets and reporting outputs related to secondary market activities.Identify opportunities to optimize reporting frameworks, automate recurring analytical processes, and develop high-value data products for internal and external use.Provide expertise on secondary market data structures, reporting requirements, and process design to support broader team development.Required Qualifications6–9+ years of experience in analytics, data products, business intelligence, financial data strategy, or a related field.Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into practical data solutions.Hands-on experience applying AI/ML techniques to unstructured data and document extraction, including LLMs, NLP, OCR, and intelligent document processing.Practical knowledge of large language models, generative AI, prompt engineering, and model output evaluation.Ability to design and oversee AI-enabled data pipelines and automation workflows, including validation and quality controls.Understanding of responsible AI practices, including data privacy, model governance, and auditability.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to lead cross-functional projects.High ownership, structured problem-solving skills, and experience working in iterative build-and-improve environments.Domain knowledge in private markets or secondary investments is highly preferred.Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with financial data tools such as CapIQ, PitchBook, Preqin, and Bloomberg.Working knowledge of VBA, SQL, and Python.Experience with data modeling and reporting architecture related to financial data.Prior experience in private equity secondaries or related private markets.Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and tooling, including Python libraries and LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude).Dexian stands at the forefront of Talent + Technology solutions with a presence spanning more than 70 locations worldwide and a team exceeding 10,000 professionals.
