Warehouse Production Supervisor

Location: Dunsfold, SurreyJob Type: Full-time, PermanentWorkplace: Fully site-basedSalary: Dependent on experienceAbout the RoleWe are looking for an experienced and dependable Production Supervisor to oversee the day to day operations of a busy industrial recycling and materials processing facility.This is a hands on supervisory role responsible for coordinating employees and workloads across multiple production areas. The successful candidate will ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards while supporting the wider management team.The role combines practical factory involvement with team supervision, production planning, quality control and record-keeping. It is fully site-based, with no option for remote or home working.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervising daily activities across the factory’s production areasPlanning workloads and allocating tasks to production employeesMonitoring output and ensuring daily and weekly targets are achievedEnsuring materials are processed, sorted and stored correctlyMaintaining consistent quality standards throughout productionProviding clear instructions and support to employeesTraining new starters and supporting the continued development of the teamMonitoring attendance, conduct and performance, escalating concerns when necessaryEnsuring employees follow company procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of workPromoting the correct use of personal protective equipmentCarrying out regular workplace and safety checksDelivering toolbox talks and communicating operational updatesMonitoring machinery and reporting faults, damage or maintenance requirements promptlyWorking with the maintenance team to minimise disruption and production downtimeMaintaining accurate production, quality and stock recordsInvestigating production issues and implementing practical solutionsEnsuring factory areas are kept clean, organised and safeMonitoring the availability of materials, tools and consumablesIdentifying opportunities to improve safety, quality and productivityProviding hands-on assistance to the production team when requiredReporting production figures, concerns and operational updates to managementAbout YouWe are looking for someone who:Has previous supervisory or team-leader experience within a factory, manufacturing, recycling, engineering, warehousing or similar industrial environmentIs confident supervising employees and managing daily workloadsHas a practical and hands-on approach to leadershipCan communicate instructions clearly and professionallyIs organised and able to manage multiple prioritiesHas strong problem-solving and decision-making skillsUnderstands the importance of health and safety within an industrial workplaceCan maintain accurate records and complete basic production reportsIs comfortable working around industrial machinery and processed materialsIs physically capable of working within an active factory environmentCan remain calm and organised when managing production issuesIs reliable, punctual and capable of setting a positive example to the teamIs confident using computers and basic office softwarePrevious experience within recycling or materials processing would be beneficial but is not essential. Relevant training can be provided to a candidate with strong industrial supervisory experience.A forklift licence or other relevant machinery certificates would be advantageous but are not essential.Training and SupportA structured on-site induction and training program will be arranged to help the successful candidate become fully established in the role.This may include training on:The company’s production and materials-processing proceduresFactory machinery and equipmentQuality-control requirementsHealth and safety procedures and safe systems of workProduction reporting and record-keepingTeam-management processes and company policiesWhere appropriate, additional role-related training, licences or qualifications may also be arranged.Applicants do not need previous experience of the company’s specific recycling processes, provided they have suitable industrial or supervisory experience and are willing to learn.Important Workplace InformationThis is a practical, hands-on position based entirely within an industrial factory environment in Dunsfold. The role requires regular movement around the production facility and cannot be carried out remotely.Applicants must be able to travel reliably to the Dunsfold site for every shift.
