Somicon values continuous learning, safety, and high professional standards, offering opportunities to contribute to impactful projects in the United Arab Emirates and the wider region.Role Description The Water Treatment Technician is a full-time, based in Sharjah the United Arab Emirates, with a mix of on-site work at treatment facilities and some work-in the workshop and office flexibility for reporting and documentation. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervision of assemply and testing at our workshop/ factory, installation at site and monitoring treatment processes, and supporting the operation and adjustment of treatment systems to meet quality and regulatory requirements. The technician will collect and analyze samples, record and interpret data, and assist in troubleshooting process issues under the guidance of senior technical staff. The role also involves maintaining equipment, following safety protocols, preparing technical reports, and communicating findings and recommendations to internal teams and clients. Collaboration with engineers and consultants to implement improvements in treatment efficiency and reliability is an important part of this position.Qualifications Strong practical skills in assembly of Water Treatment plant, with the ability to operate and monitor treatment systems safely and accurately.Experience or foundational knowledge in Wastewater Treatment processes, including sampling, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting.Well-developed Analytical Skills for interpreting test results, identifying trends or issues, and supporting data-driven decisions.Clear and professional Communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, preparing concise reports, and interacting with clients or regulators.Relevant technical education such as a diploma or degree in environmental science, chemistry, water technology, or a related field.Ability to work in a hybrid setting, manage time effectively, and adapt to field, laboratory, and remote work environments.Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations related to water and wastewater treatment is an advantage.Prior experience in water treatment assembly and operations in the United Arab Emirates or similar contexts is beneficial.
