Civil Construction & Building MaintenanceOrient Palace Contracting & Building Maintenance LLC is looking for an experienced, responsible, and results-driven Civil Engineer to join our team in Dubai.The successful candidate must have a minimum of 4 years of relevant UAE experience in civil construction, building maintenance, renovation, refurbishment, and structural repair works.The candidate must be capable of independently handling projects from initial site inspection, measurement, estimation, and quotation preparation through project execution, completion, and final RefurbishmentKey ResponsibilitiesSite Inspection, Measurement and EstimationConduct detailed site inspections for civil construction, renovation, refurbishment, repair, and maintenance works.Take accurate site measurements and assess the existing condition of buildings, villas, apartments, hotels, offices, warehouses, and commercial properties.Review survey reports, architectural drawings, structural drawings, specifications, BOQs, tender documents, and client requirements.Identify building defects, damages, maintenance requirements, and suitable repair or construction methods.Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities, quantity take-offs, material requirements, and cost estimates.Calculate labour, materials, equipment, transportation, subcontractor, and other project-related costs.Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.Prepare competitive quotations, technical proposals, commercial proposals, tender submissions, and variation proposals.Attend site visits, pre-tender meetings, clarification meetings, and client discussions.Conduct technical assessments and recommend practical and cost-effective solutions.Project Planning and ExecutionPlan, organize, coordinate, and supervise civil construction and building maintenance projects from commencement to completion.Prepare project execution plans, work programmes, material schedules, manpower plans, and equipment requirements.Arrange the mobilization of labour, materials, tools, equipment, and site facilities.Direct and supervise site engineers, supervisors, foremen, technicians, subcontractors, and labourers.Monitor daily site activities and ensure that work is progressing according to the approved programme.Ensure projects are completed within the agreed timeline, approved budget, and required quality standards.Coordinate with clients, consultants, property managers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments.Attend project meetings and provide accurate progress updates to management and clients.Identify technical issues, project delays, safety concerns, and site constraints and provide practical solutions.Monitor labour productivity, material consumption, equipment usage, and project expenses.Control material wastage and ensure efficient utilization of company resources.Manage multiple projects and maintenance jobs simultaneously.Civil Construction and Maintenance ExperienceThe candidate must have strong practical UAE experience in the following works:Internal and external painting worksConcrete repair and structural rehabilitationCrack repair and plaster rectificationRoof, bathroom, balcony, terrace, basement, and water-tank waterproofingBlockwork, plastering, screeding, and masonry worksTile, marble, granite, and interlock worksGypsum partitions and false-ceiling worksVilla, apartment, office, hotel, and commercial refurbishmentGeneral building maintenance and civil rectification worksExpansion-joint repair and sealant applicationFaçade repair and external building maintenanceEpoxy flooring and protective coating systemsPlumbing-related civil works and drainage repairsDemolition, modification, reinstatement, and making-good worksStructural and non-structural repair worksSnagging, defect rectification, and project handoverQuality Control and SafetyEnsure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, client requirements, and industry standards.Inspect ongoing and completed works and verify measurements, levels, alignment, workmanship, and material quality.Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants, property management teams, and relevant authorities.Prepare and submit inspection requests, method statements, risk assessments, material submittals, and technical documents.Ensure approved materials and correct application methods are used at all project sites.Ensure all employees and subcontractors comply with company health and safety procedures.Monitor scaffolding, access equipment, work-at-height activities, housekeeping, and safe working practices.Immediately report and rectify quality, safety, or technical non-conformances.Ensure compliance with UAE construction regulations, Dubai Municipality requirements, authority standards, and applicable building codes.Commercial and Project DocumentationPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.Prepare interim valuations, progress claims, variation orders, and final project measurements.Verify subcontractor quantities, invoices, and completed works.Maintain complete project documentation, including drawings, approvals, correspondence, measurement sheets, inspection reports, and site photographs.Prepare project completion reports, snagging reports, warranty documents, as-built information, and handover documents.Maintain accurate records of materials, labour, equipment, expenses, and project progress.Support management in commercial discussions, payment claims, and project-related correspondence.Ensure all project records and documents are properly filed, updated, and backed up.Mandatory Candidate RequirementsBachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.Minimum of four years of relevant UAE experience in civil construction and building maintenance works is mandatory.Candidates with experience outside the UAE but without the required minimum UAE experience will not be considered.Strong experience in site inspection, measurement, estimation, BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, project execution, and project coordination.Good knowledge of UAE construction practices, local authority requirements, building regulations, and health and safety standards.Ability to read and understand architectural, civil, structural, and MEP drawings.Strong knowledge of construction materials, repair methods, labour productivity, and UAE market rates.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and project-related software.Ability to prepare quotations, technical submissions, method statements, project schedules, and progress reports.Strong communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.Ability to independently coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and site teams.Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.Must be willing to work at different project locations across the UAE.Immediate availability or a short notice period will be preferred.Mandatory UAE Driving LicenceA valid UAE driving licence is mandatory for this position.The candidate must be a confident and responsible driver.The candidate must be willing to drive company vehicles for site inspections, project visits, client meetings, authority visits, supplier visits, material coordination, and other official duties.Candidates without a valid UAE driving licence will not be considered.Salary and BenefitsSalary will be based on
