In this role, you will ensure all welding procedures and qualifications strictly adhere to project specifications, international codes, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Witness and monitor welding procedure qualification (WPQ) and welder qualification tests. Review, verify, and document welding procedures (WPS, PQR) against project requirements. Perform visual inspections of welds and monitor pre-heating, inter-pass temperatures, and post-weld heat treatments. Coordinate with third-party testing laboratories for non-destructive (NDT) and destructive testing. Maintain accurate inspection records, daily reports, and quality documentation. Requirements Diploma or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of related experience. Proven track record as a Welding QC Inspector with specific expertise in pipeline projects and welding procedure qualifications. Must be well versed in API 1104, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, and other relevant pipeline codes and standards. Certified Welding Inspector (e.g., AWS-CWI, CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2, or equivalent). Deep understanding of international welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME IX, API 1104, BS EN). Strong documentation skills for reviewing and approving PQRs and WPSs.
