Well Placement Engineer

We are conducting a search on behalf of major Oilfield Service Company for an experienced Well Placement Engineer – to support the delivery, adoption and commercial growth of geosteering technology across Oman and Saudi Arabia.Role Overview:This is a dual technical and commercial role for a well placement professional who can advise rig and customer teams in real time, while also helping to introduce and grow the company’s geosteering technology in the market.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support and guidance on real-time well placement and geosteering activitiesWork closely with rig-site and customer teams to deliver effective well placement solutionsAct as the technical focal point for geosteering technology across the assigned regionSupport the implementation, integration and adoption of the technology across customer operationsAdvise customers on well trajectory, reservoir navigation and real-time drilling data interpretationBuild strong client relationships and identify opportunities to expand technology deploymentDeliver technical presentations and support client meetings, opportunity development and business development activityCollaborate with internal product, technical and commercial teams to ensure solutions meet market needsSupport the ongoing development of the regional well placement offeringProgress into mentoring, developing and leading a small team of Well Placement Engineers as the business expandsQualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience or a related technical discipline is preferredMinimum 12 years’ relevant experience within Oil & Gas / Oilfield ServicesStrong experience in Well Placement, Geosteering and Directional Drilling operationsStrong understanding of well trajectory planning, reservoir navigation and real-time drilling/geological dataExperience with major Oilfield Services companies is highly preferred;Proven experience working directly with customers, drilling teams and operational stakeholdersExperience in a commercial, client-development or technology-promotion capacity is highly desirableOpen to established Domain Champions or senior Well Placement Engineers with the ambition to move into a leadership roleSkills:Strong technical understanding of geosteering and well placement workflowsConfident customer-facing and presentation skillsCommercial mindset, with the ability to identify and develop business opportunitiesStrong stakeholder-management and relationship-building capabilityAbility to work independently in a dynamic, field-focused environmentLeadership potential and willingness to build a team over timeArabic language skills are advantageous but not essentialWillingness to travel regionally and internationally when required
