Our teams collaborate across Network Engineering, RAN, Core Network, Transmission, Infrastructure, Security, Operations, Technology, Vendors, and Customer Experience to design and operate high-performance wireless networks.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Wireless Engineering Manager to lead the engineering, planning, deployment, optimization, and lifecycle management of wireless communication networks and technologies.The successful candidate will provide technical and operational leadership across wireless infrastructure, RF engineering, network architecture, coverage and capacity planning, performance optimization, technology modernization, and engineering standards.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute wireless engineering strategy, architecture, standards, and technology roadmaps.Lead wireless network planning, design, deployment, integration, optimization, and lifecycle management.Manage engineering activities across cellular, private wireless, Wi-Fi, fixed wireless, microwave, IoT, and other applicable technologies.Develop coverage and capacity plans based on traffic forecasts, customer requirements, and business objectives.Lead RF planning, frequency coordination, propagation analysis, antenna design, power configuration, and network dimensioning.Evaluate wireless spectrum requirements, utilization, interference, and future capacity needs.Conduct technical assessments for new wireless technologies, architectures, equipment, and vendors.Establish engineering requirements for sites, antennas, radios, access points, controllers, gateways, and supporting infrastructure.Coordinate site surveys, RF assessments, technical designs, installation, commissioning, testing, and acceptance.Lead network expansion, modernization, technology migration, and infrastructure upgrade programs.Analyze wireless network performance and identify coverage gaps, congestion, interference, and service-quality issues.Develop optimization initiatives to improve availability, throughput, latency, reliability, and user experience.Coordinate drive testing, benchmarking, field measurements, and RF performance assessments.Review network statistics, alarms, traces, performance counters, and engineering reports.Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for complex wireless network issues.Coordinate wireless engineering activities with RAN, Core, IP, Transmission, IT, Power, Facilities, and Field Operations teams.Ensure appropriate backhaul, power, synchronization, and infrastructure requirements are incorporated into wireless designs.Define technical specifications, engineering guidelines, design standards, and acceptance criteria.Establish and maintain wireless network configuration and parameter-management standards.Review proposed network changes and ensure appropriate technical validation and change control.Lead testing and validation of new wireless equipment, software releases, configurations, and network features.Manage wireless engineering vendors, equipment suppliers, contractors, and system integrators.Define technical deliverables, service levels, quality requirements, and vendor performance standards.Review vendor proposals, technical designs, implementation plans, and engineering documentation.Support procurement, tendering, technical evaluations, and commercial business cases.Manage engineering budgets, resource requirements, forecasts, and project priorities.Develop business cases for wireless expansion, modernization, automation, and technology investments.Maintain accurate wireless asset, site, topology, configuration, and engineering records.Ensure wireless deployments comply with applicable technical, regulatory, safety, and spectrum requirements.Coordinate with regulatory and government stakeholders on wireless engineering matters where required.Implement appropriate cybersecurity and infrastructure-protection requirements for wireless systems.Support the adoption of 5G, private 5G, Open RAN, Wi-Fi 6/7, IoT, edge connectivity, and other emerging technologies.Evaluate automation, AI, machine learning, digital-twin, and analytics solutions for wireless engineering.Develop capacity forecasts and identify future network investment requirements.Lead technical audits, engineering reviews, and continuous-improvement initiatives.Establish engineering documentation, reporting, and knowledge-management practices.Develop technical capabilities through mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing.Provide leadership with reports covering network performance, engineering projects, risks, costs, capacity, and technology initiatives.Ensure engineering activities are conducted safely and in accordance with company policies and applicable incident reductionEngineering productivity and resource utilizationIdeal CandidateThe successful candidate should have strong experience in wireless engineering, RF engineering, telecommunications, mobile networks, wireless infrastructure, network design, or wireless technology management.The candidate should demonstrate:Strong knowledge of wireless network architecture, RF principles, and telecommunications engineering.Practical experience with cellular and wireless technologies, including LTE and 5G.Knowledge of Wi-Fi, private wireless, fixed wireless, microwave, IoT, or related technologies is highly desirable.Strong understanding of RF planning, propagation, coverage, capacity, interference, and optimization.Experience leading wireless network design, deployment, commissioning, testing, and acceptance.Experience with network performance analysis, drive testing, benchmarking, and optimization.Knowledge of antennas, radios, base stations, access points, controllers, gateways, and wireless infrastructure.Understanding of transmission, IP, backhaul, synchronization, power, and infrastructure dependencies.Experience managing technology vendors, contractors, and system integrators.Strong project-management, budgeting, planning, and stakeholder-management skills.Familiarity with network-management, RF planning, monitoring, analytics, and automation platforms.Knowledge of spectrum management and applicable telecommunications regulations.Strong understanding of wireless network security, resilience, and business continuity.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making capabilities.Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, technical issues, and stakeholders.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Experience working with international and distributed teams.Strong leadership skills and a continuous-improvement mindset.
