Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and quality-focused Wooden Furniture Craftsman / Wood Quality Inspector to support the production and quality inspection of wooden furniture and related products. The ideal candidate will have strong woodworking skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to ensure finished products meet required craftsmanship, appearance, and quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce, assemble, and finish wooden furniture according to drawings, designs, and production specifications.Measure, cut, shape, sand, drill, join, and assemble wood and related materials accurately.Inspect raw wood, panels, components, and finished furniture for quality, defects, dimensions, and workmanship.Identify issues such as cracks, warping, scratches, uneven surfaces, colour differences, loose joints, and other defects.Operate and maintain woodworking tools, machinery, and equipment safely.Perform finishing work including sanding, staining, polishing, painting, or other surface treatments where required.Ensure furniture meets approved designs, measurements, finishing standards, and customer requirements.Conduct quality checks throughout the production process and before final delivery.Report material defects, production problems, and quality issues to supervisors or relevant departments.Coordinate with designers, production staff, suppliers, and other teams to resolve quality or production issues.Maintain accurate records of inspections, defects, repairs, materials, and production activities.Ensure workshop areas, tools, machinery, and materials are clean, organized, and safely maintained.Assist with custom furniture, prototypes, repairs, modifications, and special production projects.Minimize material waste while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and product quality.Identify opportunities to improve woodworking techniques, production efficiency, finishing quality, and overall product standards.Requirements & QualificationsPrevious experience as a Furniture Craftsman, Woodworker, Carpenter, Wood Quality Inspector, Furniture Technician, or similar role.Proven hands-on experience in wooden furniture production, carpentry, woodworking, or quality inspection.Good knowledge of different types of wood, wood-based materials, woodworking tools, and furniture construction techniques.Strong attention to detail and excellent understanding of workmanship and finishing quality.Ability to read basic technical drawings, measurements, furniture plans, and production specifications.Strong practical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Good understanding of wood defects, moisture, warping, cracking, and surface finishing is an advantage.Ability to operate woodworking machinery and hand tools safely.Reliable, patient, responsible, and quality-conscious.Good communication and teamwork skills.Physically fit and comfortable performing hands-on woodworking tasks for extended periods.Experience in custom-made, premium, luxury, or high-end furniture production would be an advantage.Technical or vocational qualification in carpentry, woodworking, furniture making, or a related field would be an advantage.Flexible to work extended hours, weekends, or public holidays when required.Fluent English required; additional languages would be an advantage.
