The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, WordPress themes, plugins, APIs and WooCommerce.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, customize and maintain complex WordPress websites and applications.Develop and modify custom WordPress and WooCommerce themes and plugins.Develop new backend features and custom WordPress functionalities.Integrate and customize third-party and WordPress plugins.Facilitate connections between databases and WordPress components.Develop and integrate REST APIs and third-party APIs.Manage WordPress backend, database and server integrations.Troubleshoot website issues and monitor the performance of live websites.Optimize websites for performance, scalability and security.Work closely with stakeholders to understand website requirements, design and functionality.Independently manage website development projects from requirement to deployment.Ensure websites are responsive, user-friendly and optimized for performance.Use debugging tools such as Chrome DevTools/Inspector to identify and resolve issues.Follow proper Git workflows and version control practices.Work with CI/CD processes for efficient development and deployment.Develop and maintain custom functionality using PHP, JavaScript/jQuery and WordPress APIs.Use WP-REST API and WP-CLI for development and website management.Ensure code quality, security and best development practices across projects.Required Skills & Experience4+ years of hands-on experience in WordPress development.Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery.Strong experience in custom WordPress theme and plugin development.Experience with WooCommerce theme and plugin customization.Good understanding of WordPress architecture and database structure.Experience with API development and third-party API integration.Strong knowledge of WordPress REST API and WP-CLI.Experience with Git, Git workflows and CI/CD.Good understanding of website performance optimization and security.Experience troubleshooting and debugging live websites.Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks/libraries such as jQuery or React.Ability to independently handle projects from development to deployment.Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.Key SkillsWordPress | PHP | MySQL | HTML5 | CSS3 | JavaScript | jQuery | React | WooCommerce | Custom Theme Development | Plugin Development | REST API | WP-CLI | Git | CI/CD | Website Security | Performance Optimization
