Operating from offices in Europe (Netherlands, Cyprus, Latvia) and the Americas (USA and Mexico), Oceanwide offers services ranging from maritime crew and offshore technicians to HR consultancy, payroll solutions, and training and development programs.Role Description The Workboat Master is responsible for the safe navigation, operation, and management of workboats, including planning and executing vessel movements, overseeing deck operations, and ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and company procedures. Daily tasks include supervising crew members, coordinating with project and offshore teams, conducting safety drills and toolbox meetings, and maintaining accurate logs and records. The role also involves monitoring vessel performance, reporting technical issues, and collaborating with shore-based staff to support maritime and offshore project activities. The Workboat Master is expected to maintain high standards of safety, environmental stewardship, and operational efficiency at all times.QualificationsValid maritime certifications appropriate for a Workboat Master (e.g., relevant STCW certificates, nautical officer license) and a strong understanding of international and local maritime regulations.Proven experience in vessel command or senior deck roles on workboats, offshore support vessels, or similar ships, with a track record of safe and efficient operations.Demonstrated competence in navigation, ship handling, and deck operations, including mooring, towing, anchor handling, and coordination with offshore installations.Strong skills in safety management, risk assessment, and emergency response, with the ability to lead drills and promote a safety-focused work culture.Effective leadership and crew management capabilities, including clear communication, task delegation, and the ability to work in diverse, multinational teams.Good command of English in spoken and written form; additional language skills (such as Dutch) are an advantage.Physical fitness suitable for offshore and maritime environments, and willingness to work in varying weather and sea conditions.Familiarity with offshore and maritime industry standards and practices; experience in Oil & Gas, Wind Energy, or offshore construction projects is beneficial.Basic technical understanding of marine engines, equipment, and onboard systems, with the ability to identify and report issues promptly.Commitment to professional development and continuous learning, including participation in required training and
