Whether it's supporting a new business initiative or driving digital transformation, our goal is simple: technology that works for people, not the other way around.About the RoleThe Workday Technical Specialist will be responsible for leading the design, configuration, implementation, enhancement, and integration of Workday HCM solutions to support the Imbono's people strategy, operational requirements, and digital transformation objectives. The role partners with HR, IT, business leaders, and external vendors to ensure Workday HCM modules, integrations, and processes are optimized, scalable, compliant, secured and aligned with business needs.Contract Type: PermanentWorkday Strategy, Implementation & ConfigurationLead the implementation, enhancement, optimization, and ongoing support of Workday HCM modules.Act as the subject matter expert on Workday capabilities, best practices, and emerging functionality.Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, user-friendly Workday solutions aligned with business processes.Configure and maintain Workday modules including Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Talent, Performance, Recruiting, Onboarding, Learning, Absence, Time Tracking, and Payroll integrations in the countries where it is deployed.Develop and maintain Workday Extend applications, custom objects, forms, and orchestrations to meet business requirements.Coordinate testing activities including unit, system, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT), and support issue resolution through detailed documentation and troubleshooting.Workday Integrations & Technical SolutionsDesign, develop, and support integrations between Workday and internal or third-party systems using EIB, Core Connectors, Studio, Cloud Connect, APIs, and web services.Configure integration security, authentication methods, and related system access controls.Build, support, and maintain payroll interfaces for both native Workday Payroll and third-party payroll providers (including PECI and PICOF outbound interfaces), alongside other business-critical interfaces, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and security.Troubleshoot integration issues and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, data mappings, and support proceduresBusiness Process, Reporting & AnalyticsConfigure and optimize business processes, security roles, approval workflows, notifications, condition rules, and calculated fields.Analyse and improve HR processes through automation, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, scorecards, analytics, calculated fields, and reporting solutions using Report Writer, RaaS, BIRT, and Prism Analytics where applicable.Ensure data integrity, governance, compliance, and workforce reporting accuracy to support business decision-making and workforce planning.Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimisation.Stakeholder Management, Training & SupportCollaborate with HR, Finance, IT, and third-party vendors to deliver Workday solutions and integrations.Facilitate workshops, requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, and change management activities.Provide expert guidance on Workday functionality, system enhancements, and best practices.Develop and maintain user guides, process documentation, training materials, FAQs, and knowledge repositories.Deliver training and knowledge transfer to HR administrators, managers, and end users to drive system adoption and capability building.Governance, Compliance & Continuous ImprovementManage configuration, integration, and deployment activities across Sandbox, Preview, and Production environments.Maintain security frameworks, access controls, compliance standards, audit readiness, and governance processes.Support Workday release management, including impact assessments, regression testing, and adoption of new functionality.Establish documentation standards, change controls, and support processes to ensure long-term system sustainability.Lead multiple enhancement and transformation initiatives, driving continuous improvement in efficiency, employee experience, and operational effectiveness.Participate in an on-call rotation for business-critical integrations, covering monitoring, incident response, and root-cause resolution outside standard business hours.Experience3 - 5 years years' hands-on Workday configuration, integration, and implementation experience, gained in HRIS, HR Technology, or Enterprise Applications environments. Experience supporting at least one full-cycle Workday implementation. Experience working with global HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT stakeholders.Strong expertise across Workday HCM modules, integrations, business processes, security, reporting, and tenant management. Experience designing and supporting integrations using EIB, Core Connectors, Studio, PECI/PICOF, Workday Extend, web services, and third-party platforms. Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, facilitate workshops, optimize processes, automate workflows, and translate business needs into system solutions. Experience working in global, matrixed organisations and supporting multi-country deployments is highly desirable.QualificationBachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.Workday Pro Certification in at least one functional area (HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Talent, Learning, Absence, etc.) preferred.Workday Integration Certification preferred. Experience with Workday Extend and Workday Studio strongly preferred.SkillsTechnical ExpertiseWorkday HCM configuration, customization, integrations, security administration, and business process design. Strong integration expertise including EIB, Studio, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Workday Extend, PECI/PICOF, APIs, and web services (SOAP, REST, XML, XSLT, XPath).
