Workshop Technician

Job Title: Workshop Technician Department: Golf Course Maintenance Reports To: Equipment Manager / Workshop SupervisorJob SummaryThe Workshop Technician is responsible for the maintenance, servicing, repair, and setup of golf course maintenance (GCM) machinery and equipment.

The role ensures all equipment is maintained to the highest standards, minimizing downtime and supporting daily golf course operations.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on golf course maintenance equipment.Set and adjust cutting heights on mowing equipment to meet golf course standards.Carry out bed knife and reel grinding to ensure optimal cutting performance.Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults and perform necessary repairs.Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and maintain service records.Ensure all machinery is safe, operational, and ready for daily use.Monitor equipment performance and report issues to the Equipment Manager.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.Follow company health, safety, and environmental procedures.Assist with parts inventory management and equipment maintenance schedules.RequirementsMinimum 2 years of experience working as a GCM (Golf Course Maintenance) Technician or similar role.Experience in setting cutting heights on mowing equipment.Proven experience with bed knife and reel grinding.Strong knowledge of servicing and repairing golf course maintenance machinery.Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues.Basic understanding of electrical systems and engine maintenance.Good communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.QualificationsDiploma, Technical Certificate, or Vocational Training in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field preferred.Valid driving license is an advantage.CompetenciesTechnical expertiseProblem-solving skillsAttention to detailTime managementSafety awarenessTeamwork and collaboration
