Three Bridges Recruitment is working with a growing professional services business in central Edinburgh to recruit a hands-on Accountant.This is a great opportunity to join a close-knit finance team of four, working directly with the Head of Finance and taking responsibility for a broad range of accounting and reporting activities across multiple entities.Why Work Here?Competitive salary/packageHybrid workingCentral Edinburgh officeJoin a small and collaborative finance teamBroad, hands-on accounting positionExposure to multiple entitiesWork closely with and report directly to the Head of FinanceOpportunity to support improvements to finance processes and controlsVaried role combining financial accounting, management reporting and analysisJobThe role of Accountant will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:Supporting the day-to-day finance function and maintaining accurate accounting recordsPreparing and posting journals, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation and month-end adjustmentsPreparing and maintaining balance sheet reconciliationsProducing monthly management accounts and supporting working papers across multiple entitiesProviding meaningful commentary alongside management reportingPreparing financial reports and analysis as requiredSupporting variance analysis against budgets and forecastsPreparing and submitting VAT returns across multiple entitiesManaging intercompany recharges and preparing payments for approvalReviewing vendor payment runsSupporting credit control activitiesReviewing revenue recognition and preparing appropriate adjustmentsMaintaining and improving finance processes with a focus on robust financial controlsSupporting the Head of Finance with annual accounts and tax computationsLiaising with external accountants and auditors and responding to information requestsYouAs Accountant you will be skilled and/or experienced in the following:Strong hands-on financial accounting experienceQualified or Part-Qualified AccountantExperience producing management accounts through to month endGood understanding of accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliationsExperience of revenue recognition reviews and adjustmentsPrevious experience within a consultancy, professional services or project-based environmentHighly proficient Excel skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a small finance teamComfortable working across multiple entities and managing competing prioritiesBusiness Central / Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience would be advantageousExperience of the Business Central Projects module would be particularly beneficialExposure to Kantata or another project time capture system would be advantageousForecasting experience would also be beneficialAt Three Bridges Recruitment, two of our values are “striving for brilliance” and “relatability”.
