Accountant

Position SummaryOur growing manufacturing client in the Mt. Clemens area is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. This role will support the day-to-day accounting function, including month-end close activities, account reconciliations, payroll support, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and have at least three years of accounting experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.ResponsibilitiesAssist with month-end and year-end close processesPrepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedulesSupport monthly financial reporting and variance analysisAssist with payroll processing, auditing, and reportingReconcile bank accounts and general ledger accountsMaintain fixed asset and depreciation schedulesSupport accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as neededAssist with budgeting and forecasting activitiesEnsure compliance with company accounting policies and proceduresParticipate in process improvement initiatives within the accounting departmentQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance requiredMinimum 3 years of accounting experienceManufacturing industry experience preferredUnderstanding of GAAP and general accounting principlesExperience supporting payroll processing and reportingStrong Microsoft Excel skillsExperience with ERP systems preferredExcellent communication and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesWhat Makes Someone SuccessfulStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentTeam-oriented mindset with willingness to support multiple accounting functionsProactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
