About Belle.aiBelle.ai is building next-generation AI products for skin health, dermatology, hair health, and aesthetics.We are looking for an AI Software Engineer who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with an AI-first mindset. You will build the software infrastructure, tools, and APIs that power our AI products, working closely with AI engineers, medical experts, and product teams.This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys turning ideas into working software, understands how AI systems work, and knows how to leverage AI coding assistants to build and ship products faster.You won't be limited to implementing predefined tickets. AI Tools & Platform DevelopmentBuild and maintain software tools that support the development, evaluation, and deployment of AI products.Develop annotation platforms, data management tools, and internal interfaces for AI engineers and medical experts to review, label, and analyze medical images and AI predictions.Build evaluation tools and workflows to measure AI model performance, compare model versions, and analyze failure cases.Develop internal dashboards and utilities that improve the productivity of AI and product teams.Identify opportunities to automate repetitive workflows and improve the efficiency of AI development.2. AI API & System IntegrationDesign, develop, and maintain APIs that expose AI capabilities to internal applications and external products.Integrate computer vision models, LLMs, and other AI services into production software.Build backend services for AI inference, asynchronous processing, data handling, and model orchestration.Implement workflows that combine multiple AI models, external APIs, and business logic into reliable software systems.Collaborate with AI engineers to translate model capabilities into usable, maintainable, and scalable software components.3. Rapid Prototyping & AI-Augmented DevelopmentUse AI coding assistants to accelerate implementation, debugging, refactoring, testing, and documentation.Rapidly prototype new tools, features, and AI-powered workflows to validate ideas and gather feedback.Balance development speed with code quality, maintainability, and reliability.Iterate quickly during experimentation and improve architecture as features mature.Explore new AI development tools and techniques that can improve engineering productivity.4. Production Engineering & DevOpsDeploy, monitor, and maintain AI-related services in production environments.Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, and development infrastructure.Troubleshoot software and deployment issues, investigate incidents, and implement lasting fixes.Optimize API performance, resource utilization, and system reliability as usage grows.Follow appropriate security and privacy practices when handling medical data and other sensitive information.5. Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with AI engineers, software engineers, product teams, and medical experts.Understand AI development workflows and translate real-world requirements into effective software solutions.Contribute ideas to improve existing products, internal tools, and engineering processes.Communicate technical decisions, progress, and trade-offs clearly to teammates.RequirementsMust-HavesExperience: 1–4 years of experience in software engineering, backend development, AI engineering, or a related role. Strong candidates with relevant projects are also welcome.Programming: Proficiency in Python and a solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals.Backend Development: Experience building APIs and backend services using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, Django, or Node.js.AI Literacy: A foundational understanding of AI/ML concepts, including how AI models are used, evaluated, and integrated into software applications.AI-Augmented Development: Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants to write, debug, refactor, or test code.
