JOB TITLEArt Content Rights Research Assistant — Copyright Research & Image PermissionsABOUT THE JOBDe Art is an independent, internet-based visual arts media platform dedicated to sharing art, artists, and cultural knowledge with a wider audience.We are looking for a careful and research-oriented Art Content Rights Research Assistant to help document copyright information and usage conditions for artworks and visual materials considered for digital publication. The role supports responsible publishing by helping the editorial team understand image sources, attribution requirements, and the permissions that may be needed before content goes live.RESPONSIBILITIES- Research copyright and usage information for artworks and images considered for editorial publication.- Review official museum, gallery, artist, photographer, and image-provider websites for stated usage conditions.- Record available licensing details, attribution requirements, permission contacts, and source links.- Distinguish between images that are available to view online and images that are authorized for reuse.- Help identify cases where additional permission or legal review may be required.- Maintain organized records of rights research and supporting documentation.- Flag unclear, conflicting, or incomplete licensing information for editorial review.- Assist with preparing accurate image credits and attribution notes.- Communicate with relevant institutions or rights holders to request clarification when authorized to do so.- Follow established procedures for copyright research and responsible digital content use.QUALIFICATIONS- A strong interest in visual arts, digital publishing, and responsible use of creative work.- Good online research skills and the ability to evaluate information from primary sources.- Excellent attention to detail and accurate documentation habits.- Clear written communication and professional correspondence skills.- Familiarity with copyright, Creative Commons licences, image permissions, or intellectual property concepts is an advantage.- Ability to distinguish verified information from assumptions and unresolved questions.- Good organizational skills and the ability to meet agreed deadlines.- Previous experience in publishing, image research, arts administration, or rights documentation is a plus.- Good English reading and writing skills; additional languages are welcome.WHAT WE OFFER- An opportunity to contribute to an independent digital visual arts media platform.- Practical experience in copyright research and editorial documentation.- Collaboration with an editorial team working across art, artists, and visual culture.- An opportunity to develop skills in responsible image sourcing and digital publishing workflows.HOW TO APPLYPlease email the following materials to farhang@parsikia.ir:- A CV of no more than two pages.- A cover letter of no more than one page explaining your interest in the role.- Links to three relevant projects or examples of previous work, where available.- Contact details for two professional references, including their names, roles, and contact information.Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview and may be asked to complete a short, role-specific practical assignment.De Art welcomes applications from qualified candidates with diverse backgrounds who are passionate about visual arts, copyright awareness, and responsible digital publishing.
