This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who wants to manage major projects across theSoutheast.This position offers strong career advancement potential into a Senior Project Manager role asyou continue to grow within the Plateau organization. The Assistant Project Manager will assist and support the Project Manager and Superintendenton projects.Specifics of the RoleSupport the Project Manager as needed to ensure a successful execution of aproject with the client and our subcontractors.Track materials and manage costsLearn from the Project Manager and SuperintendentRequiredBachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering or 2-5 years ofproject engineer or assistant project management experience.1 to 5 years of experience in the management field of sitework constructionprojects; erosion control, excavation, utility installation.Demonstrated knowledge of construction principles, practices and technology.Previous experience of successful support to a project team.Ability to walk a job site, climb ladders, and traverse slopes.Ability to lift objects of at least 50 pounds and occasionally 100 pounds.What we expectAssistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager successfully execute aproject. The APM should have desire to learn from the Project Manager and be ableto successfully execute specific subtask of project management.Assistant Project Manager will help manage scope with our subcontractors,suppliers and vendors.Support in the management of supplier procurement and contracts. Monitor thedelivery of all needed materials for the project(s) ensuring timely delivery andappropriate billingReview and approve subcontractor and supplier invoicesMonitor deviations in project scope and communicate with the project managerMaintain job files to ensure continuity of work flow.Review shop drawings and submittals to ensure compliance with the constructiondocuments.Review and track project invoices to ensure appropriate billings and managematerial needs.Generate, review, distribute and track RFI’s.Proficient in Microsoft Office SuiteItems to knowOur projects are typically based in the southeast and travel will be required. Travelcould consist of day travel, multi-day travel or work onsite a project from a fewweeks to monthly.Plateau does not micro-manage and you will be expected to work with the projectmanager and be a self- starter. The Plateau team is always ready to support youand each other with decision making, knowledge questions, etc. when you need orwould like inputProjects are fast pace.
