Title: Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Construction

Location: Chicago, ILSalary: $80,000 – $110,000 + BenefitsWe are partnering with an established General Contractor in Chicago that is looking to add an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to its growing team.This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious construction professional looking to develop their career with a reputable contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects.The successful candidate will work closely with experienced Project Managers and Superintendents, gaining exposure to all stages of construction, from preconstruction through project completion.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist Project Managers with the successful delivery of commercial construction projects.Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.Support project scheduling, budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting.Review drawings, specifications, and subcontractor scopes of work.Attend project meetings and communicate progress to internal teams and clients.Assist with procurement, subcontractor buyout, and contract administration.Monitor project progress, quality, and safety compliance.Support project closeout, punch lists, and final documentation.Requirements2+ years of experience in commercial construction, ideally with a General Contractor.Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Project Coordinator.Experience working on commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, or multifamily construction projects.Understanding of construction drawings, contracts, schedules, and project budgets.Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software.Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred but not essential.Compensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $80,000 – $110,000, depending on experience.Performance-based bonus opportunities.Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) retirement plan with company match.Paid vacation, holidays, and PTO.Career progression into Project Management and Senior Project Management.Opportunity to work on high-profile projects throughout Chicago.Interested?If you're an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer looking for your next opportunity in Chicago, I'd be interested in speaking with you.Apply today or reach out directly for a confidential discussion.
