Electrical Engineer - HV Primary Design

Your new companyYou will join an established engineering consultancy delivering complex energy and infrastructure projects across Western Australia. With a strong pipeline of work, they are seeking an Electrical Engineer or Senior Electrical Engineer with primary design experience to join their Perth team.Your new roleWorking within a multidisciplinary energy team, you will support the delivery of high-voltage substation and electrical infrastructure projects. Depending on your level of experience, you will contribute to or lead primary design packages and work closely with clients, utilities, contractors and internal engineering teams.Your responsibilities will include:Delivering HV substation primary design packages up to 330kVPreparing layouts, general arrangements and key electrical diagramsSpecifying primary plant equipment, including transformers, switchgear, instrument transformers, surge arresters and busbar systemsCompleting engineering studies and calculations across earthing, insulation coordination, lightning protection and conductor designSupporting technical reviews, design assurance and project approvalsProviding engineering input throughout construction, testing and commissioningWorking with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, practical and constructable solutionsAt a senior level, providing technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and designersWhat you’ll need to succeedA degree in Electrical EngineeringExperience in HV substation primary designKnowledge of primary plant equipment, engineering calculations and design documentationExperience working across transmission, distribution, utility, mining or industrial networksUnderstanding of Australian Standards and relevant industry requirementsWestern Power project or standards experience will be highly regardedStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skillsFor the Senior Engineer level, demonstrated experience leading designs, technical reviews and project outcomesWhat you’ll get in returnThis is an opportunity to join a well-established engineering team and work across technically challenging energy and substation projects.
