Financial ControllerCoventry£55,000–£65,000 (some flexibility for the right candidate) + bonus + benefitsFull-time, permanent | Office-based, five days per weekI’m recruiting a Financial Controller for a globally recognised engineering business in Coventry.Following a planned restructure of its finance function, the company is creating this role to oversee day-to-day finance, reporting to the Head of Finance & Administration. You’ll lead a team of five and help shape the role from the outset.The role combines financial control with commercial involvement across engineering projects and product sales. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to understand business performance, challenge forecasts and support decisions, while taking ownership of reporting, cash management, controls and audit.What you’ll be doingLeading and developing a finance team of five.Taking ownership of day-to-day finance across the UK & Ireland business.Overseeing financial reporting, including reporting under IFRS.Identifying and managing differences between local GAAP and IFRS, ensuring these are appropriately reflected in reporting.Challenging forecasts and providing insight into engineering projects and product sales.Managing cash, maintaining financial controls and coordinating audit activity.Working closely with senior leaders to support commercial and operational decisions.What you’ll bringExperience working for a manufacturer is essential.Practical experience of IFRS reporting.Experience identifying and managing differences between local GAAP and IFRS.A hands-on approach to finance leadership, with the ability to combine detailed oversight with commercial insight.The confidence to challenge assumptions and build relationships across the business.You may already be a Financial Controller or be ready to step into a broader role with greater ownership.This position is based in the Coventry office five days per week, with a preferred start date of ASAP.If you’re a hands-on finance leader with experience working for a manufacturer, I’d like to hear from you
