Location: London / HybridEmployment: Full-time, permanentReporting to: CEO / Co-FounderAbout the Business:An early-stage, science-led technology business is developing a real estate intelligence platform that measures how buildings perform for their occupants.The platform combines scientific research, occupier experience data and technology to provide actionable insights for investors, property owners and asset managers.The ambition is to establish an independent benchmark for occupant wellbeing in the built environment.The Opportunity:The business is seeking a Founding Product & Technology Lead to take ownership of its technical development, from early product architecture and scientific data collection through to the launch of a scalable SaaS platform.This is a hands-on leadership role, working closely with the founders, scientific specialists and commercial team.

It offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape the product, technology strategy and future development of an emerging PropTech business.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Technology StrategyLead technical development from initial architecture through to commercial launch.Translate scientific methodologies and customer requirements into a product roadmap.Design and develop a secure, scalable cloud-based SaaS platform.Build user interfaces, assessment tools, reporting and analytics capabilities.Establish development standards, testing and quality assurance processes.Data & Scientific IntegrationTranslate scientific methodologies into digital assessment and scoring systems.Develop secure processes for collecting, managing and analysing survey data.Ensure data integrity, consistency and traceability.Build infrastructure to support scientific validation and future benchmarking.SaaS & Data IntelligenceDevelop core platform functionality, automated scoring and reporting.Build client dashboards and portfolio-level analytics.Design multi-client architecture with appropriate user permissions and data separation.Develop APIs and integration capabilities to support future commercial applications.AI & InnovationIdentify opportunities for responsible AI and automation across analysis, reporting and workflows.Explore AI-assisted interpretation of feedback and identification of emerging trends.Ensure appropriate governance and separation between validated scientific outputs and exploratory analysis.Security & Technical LeadershipEmbed cybersecurity, data protection and privacy-by-design principles.Establish appropriate data governance and access controls.Manage external technical partners and development resources where required.Own technical architecture, delivery milestones, budgets and future technology team development.Profile:We are looking for a commercially minded software engineer or technical product leader with experience building technology products and the ambition to help shape an early-stage business.Essential ExperienceBackground in PropTech, HealthTech, ESG technology or research-led platforms.Approximately 5–10 years' experience in software engineering, SaaS development or technical product delivery.Proven experience building and launching cloud-based software products.Strong full-stack development skills, ideally including Python, JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks.Experience with databases, APIs and scalable data architecture.Understanding of cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and data protection.Experience developing analytics, dashboards or data-intensive products.Ability to translate complex requirements into practical technical solutions.Comfortable working autonomously and collaborating with scientific and commercial stakeholders.Desirable ExperienceExperience with survey systems, statistical data processing or benchmarking.Practical experience integrating AI, machine learning or large language models.Experience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms.Previous experience in an early-stage or venture-backed business.Familiarity with enterprise software and third-party integrations.
