Technical Lead – High-Growth DeepTech StartupI'm working with an ambitious deeptech startup that has raised $12M in pre-seed funding from investors including Anthropic and Revolut. They're now looking for a Technical Lead to help shape the technology and take ownership of some of the most important engineering challenges in the business. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who wants more than just another senior title. You'll have a genuine say in how the software is built, the architectural decisions that shape the product and the engineering standards the team follows as it grows. What you'd be doingTaking ownership of the design and development of complex, mission-critical software.Making key architectural decisions and helping determine how the technology evolves.Solving challenging engineering problems around performance, reliability and scalability.Working closely with a talented team of engineers to turn ambitious ideas into robust, production-ready software.Owning projects end-to-end, from initial design through to deployment.Helping raise the engineering bar, mentoring other engineers and shaping how the team develops. What they're looking forThey're language agnostic and care far more about how you think and the quality of the systems you've built than the specific technologies on your CV. Python and TypeScript are particularly useful, but experience in any modern programming language is welcome.More importantly, they're looking for someone who:Has strong software engineering fundamentals and can make sound architectural decisions.Has designed, built and shipped complex systems in production.Enjoys getting into the difficult technical problems rather than simply delegating them.Is comfortable taking ownership, making decisions and being accountable for the outcome.Wants to have a meaningful impact on both the technology and the direction of an early-stage business. Why it's worth a lookThe appeal here is the combination of technical depth, genuine ownership and the stage of the business. With $12M raised at pre-seed, there's significant backing behind the vision, but the company is still early enough that the right person can have a lasting influence on what gets built and how the engineering organisation develops. You'll be joining a team of strong engineers, tackling challenging problems and helping establish the foundations of a business with serious ambitions. If you're an engineer who enjoys solving hard problems, cares about building excellent software and wants the opportunity to shape the technical direction of a company rather than inherit decisions already made, this could be a particularly interesting next step.
