The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with React, Next.js, PostgreSQL, and AWS/Azure cloud management, along with proven experience developing, publishing, and managing mobile applications on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing existing web platforms and mobile applications across iOS and Android. This role requires someone capable of working with an established codebase, identifying and resolving technical issues, developing new features, managing cloud infrastructure, and ensuring seamless application performance across platforms.A strong emphasis will be placed on mobile app development, deployment, and maintenance, particularly for applications built using Capacitor. The candidate should be comfortable managing the complete development lifecycle, from backend architecture and frontend development to mobile app publishing and production support.
Key Responsibilities
Understand the existing application architecture, codebase, and user journeys before implementing changes or introducing new features.Develop, maintain, and optimise web applications using React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.Build and maintain backend functionality, APIs, server actions, and database integrations.Manage PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, migrations, transactions, data validation, and query optimisation.Take ownership of mobile application development, deployment, and maintenance for both iOS and Android platforms.Publish, update, and manage applications on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.Develop and enhance mobile app functionalities, ensuring smooth performance, responsiveness, and consistent user experiences across devices.Troubleshoot mobile-specific issues involving authentication, session persistence, deep linking, push notifications, app permissions, and native integrations.Work with Xcode and Android Studio/Gradle to manage mobile application builds, debugging, testing, and releases.Manage cloud infrastructure, application hosting, deployments, and server environments using AWS or Microsoft Azure.Integrate and maintain third-party services, including WhatsApp, email, payment gateways, and other external APIs.Implement and manage real-time communication features using technologies such as Socket.IO and WebRTC.Work on health-related integrations, including Apple HealthKit and Android Health Connect, where required.Identify technical issues, distinguish bugs from new feature requirements, and implement effective solutions.Conduct functional testing, debugging, and performance optimisation across web and mobile applications.Manage code through Git, maintain technical documentation, and ensure reliable deployment and release processes.Coordinate with stakeholders to understand technical requirements, prioritise tasks, and deliver improvements within agreed timelines.
Requirements
Strong hands-on experience with React.js and Next.js for full-stack web application development.Proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript.Practical experience with PostgreSQL, including database management, schema design, migrations, and query optimisation.Hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure, hosting, and deployments using AWS or Microsoft Azure.Proven experience developing, publishing, deploying, and managing mobile applications on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.Strong experience in mobile application development for both iOS and Android platforms.Hands-on experience with Capacitor or comparable hybrid mobile application frameworks.Working knowledge of Xcode, Android Studio, Gradle, and mobile application build and release processes.Experience with API development, backend integrations, authentication systems, and third-party services.Familiarity with Git, automated testing, debugging, and production deployment workflows.Ability to independently troubleshoot, maintain, and improve existing web and mobile applications.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience working with Next.js App Router, server-side rendering, server actions, and session management.Familiarity with Prisma ORM, Zod, and database validation.Knowledge of Swift or Kotlin for native mobile integrations.Experience with Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) and Apple Push Notification Service (APNs).Familiarity with Apple HealthKit and Android Health Connect integrations.Experience with Socket.IO, WebRTC, and real-time application features.Knowledge of Stripe or other payment gateway integrations.Experience with WhatsApp Business API and messaging integrations.Previous experience working on healthcare, medical technology, or other sensitive-data applications.Familiarity with Linux deployment, cloud security, monitoring, and infrastructure management.
