Head of Artificial Intelligence

We are currently representing a leading insurance broker that is seeking a permanent Head of Data & AI. The company has recently secured investment from a private equity firm and is entering a phase of rapid growth—driven by both acquisitions and organic expansion. As part of this investment, data and AI are a key focus for transformation and growth, with the goal of generating maximum value.The Head of Data & AI role entails leading two core areas:Data: The focus here is on the migration and development of a data platform. The objective is to ensure that acquired brokerage firms benefit from integrated data, unified governance structures, common standards, and a connected infrastructure for sales and analytics.AI: This involves building and leading the AI function, as well as establishing a robust governance framework for AI deployment. Key responsibilities include implementing AI solutions, enabling the organization to leverage AI, and applying AI technologies to unstructured data within operational workflows and data analysis.The successful candidate will be responsible for building the team, managing the budget, and playing a key role in "build-vs.-buy" decisions.We are looking for an individual with experience in the insurance sector who is proficient in German and has a proven track record of leading data functions, building data platforms, and establishing and managing an AI division. The position is based in either Düsseldorf or Hamburg, with a requirement to be in the office two days per week.The role offers an attractive base salary, a bonus, and an equity stake (via an equity/management incentive plan). Given the ambitious growth plans and the backing of a private equity investor, this position is highly lucrative.
