You'll develop clear technology roadmaps, provide trusted advice to the Executive Team, and ensure technology decisions deliver measurable value. This is a senior leadership role where you will provide strategic leadership and hands on delivery. You will need to be equally comfortable in setting roadmaps and rolling up your sleeves.Leadership & Strategy ExperienceSenior IT leadership (IT Director, Head of IT, Technology Director, or CIO level)Proven ability to develop technology strategies, roadmaps, governance frameworks, and investment plansExperience leading technology transformation programmes and operational improvement initiativesEstablished track record operating at Executive or Board level, influencing senior stakeholdersStrong commercial awareness: budget management, contract oversight, supplier performance managementOperational & Delivery ManagementExperience managing MSPs, suppliers, and outsourced technology service providersEstablished PMO function: effective project governance, reporting, and benefits trackingAbility to balance strategic leadership with hands-on operational accountabilityExperience supporting digital adoption and driving technology-enabled business changeProven capability managing small internal teams supported by MSP partners and specialistsSecurity, Risk & GovernanceStrong understanding of cyber security frameworks, controls, and governanceExperience developing and maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery plansCompetency in incident response planning and IT service managementKnowledge of technology risk management and compliance requirementsUnderstanding of AI, automation, and emerging technology governanceTechnical KnowledgeMicrosoft 365 ecosystem: Teams, SharePoint, Purview, Entra ID, and related servicesCloud platforms, SaaS, and end-user computing environmentsWorkplace technology, office networks, and collaboration toolsSalesforce CRM and wider business application managementAI tools and technologies (awareness and adoption)Ideal CandidateThis role suits someone who:Has broad IT leadership experience across infrastructure, security, SaaS within a Financial Services organisationThrives working independentlyEnjoys both strategic thinking and hands-on deliveryHas strong vendor management credentialsStrong stakeholder management skills to gain buy you in across the businessDesirable ExperienceExperience supporting research-led, knowledge-based, or international teamsProven track record improving Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Teams adoptionExperience leading responsible AI adoption and governance initiativesProfessional certifications: ITIL, CISSP, CISM, PMP, Prince2, or equivalent
