The ideal candidate ensures the smooth, compliant movement of the company's goods across international borders. The manager will act as a bridge between customs authorities, freight forwarders, shipping companies, suppliers, freight agents, transporters, and the company. The candidate will navigate complex regulations, documentation, and processes to facilitate imports and exports. This role involves leading a team, managing risks, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance with regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance and documentation: Follow all import and export rules and prepare the necessary documents for clearance.Liaison: Communicate with customs authorities, freight forwarders, external stakeholders, and internal teams to solve problems and speed up clearance.Team Management: Lead and improve the customs clearing team to ensure high performance.Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of all clearance transactions.Performance Monitoring: Track and report on key performance indicators for clearing and settlement.Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with customs clearance and international trade.Efficiency: Improve the clearance process to lessen delays and costs.Budget Management: Manage the customs clearance budget accurately and efficiently.Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in business administration, international business, or a related field.- At least 5 years of experience in clearing operations.- Proven experience in managing a team.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Good leadership and communication skills.Salary is competitive and negotiable, with HMO and fringe benefitsInterested and qualified candidates should forward their CV to century_recruitment@sunda.com and forward a copy to samuel@sunda.com.
