Manager - Central Electrical (Section Head - Electrical)

About the roleOur client, a leading integrated steel manufacturer in the UAE, is seeking a Central Electrical Manager (Section Head – Electrical) to lead the electrical maintenance team supporting its plants. You will ensure safe, reliable electrical services through preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, major repairs and rapid troubleshooting during breakdowns.Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment AvailabilityMaximise equipment availability against annual objectives by controlling unscheduled delays within budgetAssess business risks of electrical equipment/systems and recommend technical improvements to senior managementMaintenance Planning & ExecutionPlan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance with Maintenance Planning and Condition MonitoringPrioritise electrical maintenance requests into daily, weekly, monthly and yearly plansReview planned vs. executed work during shutdowns and adjust schedules or resources without compromising safetyEnsure work orders are accurately recorded in the maintenance system to track performance trendsTroubleshooting & Root Cause AnalysisLead the team on non-routine and major faults, providing hands-on technical inputConduct root cause analysis and implement countermeasures to prevent recurrenceReporting & PerformancePrepare management reports on stoppages, faults and maintenance performanceReview outstanding jobs and trends weekly and drive corrective actionBudget & Spare PartsPrepare, justify and control annual OPEX and CAPEX budgetsManage spare parts, including periodic auditsPeople LeadershipLead, train and appraise maintenance technicians; nominate staff for safety and technical trainingSupport UAE national development and integration through individual development plansMaintain an efficient organisation structure and support recruitmentProjects & ExpansionsSupport equipment upgrades, revamps, expansions and feasibility studiesLead maintenance readiness for facility start-ups – staffing, spares, training, service agreements and commissioningHSEPromote a strong safety culture and ensure EHS compliance across team members and contractorsRequirementsBSc in Electrical or Electronic Engineering; technical Master's, MBA or technical certifications preferred10–15 years' proven experience in MV & LV electrical systems and automation systems maintenance, including at least 5 years as an electrical section head or team leaderExperience in steel plants (direct reduction, steelmaking or rolling mills) preferredExperience with energy management applications preferredFluent English; Arabic preferred
