The roleWe are looking for a hands-on mechanical engineer to take ownership of a core part of our product: the blood-collection device and its disposable components. You will work directly on the architecture, design, prototyping, and testing of a complex medical device, taking ideas from early concepts through to robust, manufacturable solutions. This includes: Designing mechanisms and components from first principlesBuilding and testing prototypes Solving challenges involving tolerances, materials, sealing, actuation, and fluid handlingDesigning test rigs and characterizing system performanceInvestigate failures and translate findings into design improvementsWork closely with suppliers and manufacturing partnersMove designs from rough prototypes toward a reliable medical productChallenge assumptions and take ownership of technical outcomesWho we are looking forWe care more about what you can build than where you studied or which credentials you hold. You may be a strong fit if you have built complex physical systems and are energized by difficult, multidisciplinary engineering problems. We value:A strong bias toward building, testing, and learning quicklyHigh agency and genuine ownershipExceptionally high standards for product qualityAn obsession with understanding why systems work or failA willingness to challenge conventional solutionsComfort working in the ambiguity and intensity of an early-stage companyThe conviction that an idea is only impossible once it has been rigorously testedExperience with medical devices, microfluidics, precision mechanisms, disposables, or regulated product development is valuable, but not essential.
