Mobile Development Manager

About the jobStairwaySoft is looking for an experienced Mobile Engineering Manager to join a well-established Israeli high-tech company developing advanced security solutions. We are looking for a mobile engineering leader with a strong background in native iOS or Android development, proven experience managing multiple engineering teams, and hands-on leadership experience delivering Flutter applications to production.In this role, you will lead the Mobile Development organization and oversee the architecture and delivery of customer-facing applications. This is a high-impact leadership role combining technical strategy, software architecture, product delivery, innovation, and people management in a global development environment. The ideal candidate is a strong engineering leader who remains technically hands-on when needed, mentors technical leaders, drives innovation through AI-assisted development, and builds high-performing engineering teams.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the Mobile Development organization, including Technical Leads and software engineers across global locations.Lead, mentor, and recruit high-performing engineering teams while fostering technical excellence, ownership, and collaboration.Define and own the architecture of the company's mobile applications across current and future products.Drive the development of scalable, secure, and high-performance cross-platform mobile applications using Flutter while leveraging native iOS and Android capabilities where appropriate.Oversee the delivery, release, and ongoing maintenance of customer-facing mobile applications published on the App Store and Google Play.Remain technically engaged and provide hands-on guidance for architecture, design reviews, technical challenges, and critical development efforts when required.Define and implement engineering best practices, coding standards, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing strategies, and architectural governance.Drive the adoption of AI-powered development tools and workflows to improve engineering productivity, software quality, automation, and developer experience.Lead technical decision-making, balancing innovation, maintainability, scalability, security, and business priorities.Collaborate closely with Product Management, UX/UI, Embedded, Cloud, QA, DevOps, and other engineering organizations.Own project planning, execution, resource allocation, risk management, and delivery commitments.Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes, Agile methodologies, and development practices.Stay current with emerging mobile technologies, AI-assisted development methodologies, and industry trends.RequirementsLeadership 10+ years of software development experience, including extensive experience in mobile application development.5+ years in engineering leadership roles, managing software development teams.Proven experience managing multiple engineering teams, including Technical Leads, Team Leaders, and/or Engineering Managers.Experience leading distributed global development teams and remote engineers.Strong organizational leadership, coaching, mentoring, and people development skills.TechnicalStrong technical background in native iOS and/or Android development (Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, or Java).Proven experience leading teams developing and delivering Flutter applications to production.Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMM).Deep understanding of integrating Flutter with native mobile platforms.Strong understanding of mobile software architecture, design patterns, application lifecycle, and modern engineering practices.Experience leading Agile software development organizations.Experience designing scalable, secure, and maintainable mobile applications.Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, backend integration, and mobile networking.Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release management.Strong understanding of mobile security, application performance optimization, and scalability.Experience leveraging AI-powered development tools.Ability to remain technically hands-on and contribute to architectural design and complex technical problem-solving when needed.
