Operational Support Expert

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Operational Support Expert to join a leading hydropower organisation supporting the operation and optimisation of a Pumped Storage Hydropower Facility in Hatta, Dubai, UAE. This is a 2-Year Contract starting ASAP.

Key Requirements

English Speaking (Mandatory)5+ years' experience as an Operations Engineer, Plant Engineer, Operations Manager, O&M Engineer, Shift Supervisor, Control Room Operator, Hydropower Specialist, Technical Advisor or Operational Support EngineerPrevious experience operating a Pumped Storage Hydropower Plant (PSH/PSPP) is essentialStrong understanding of hydropower plant operations including turbines, generators, transformers, substations, balance of plant systems and associated auxiliary equipmentExperience developing, reviewing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational documentationStrong knowledge of plant operating philosophies, start-up and shutdown procedures, emergency response procedures and operational best practicesAbility to ensure plant equipment is operated in accordance with O&M Manuals, Plant Operating Manuals and operational proceduresExperience supporting commissioning, performance testing, troubleshooting and optimisation activities within hydropower or power generation facilitiesStrong understanding of operational safety requirements and risk management within heavy industrial or power generation environmentsAbility to interface effectively with plant management, operators, maintenance personnel, OEMs and engineering teams

Key Responsibilities

Guide and advise the Customer's operational team.Assist in developing and implementing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support the safe operation of the Plant.Support the Customer's operators by providing guidance and general hands-on training during normal working hours. Technical knowledge to ensure the equipment is operated in line with the O&M manuals in conjunction with the Plant Operating Manual and SOPs.On-call availability may be required in case of emergencies outside the normal working hours.If you have hands-on experience operating Pumped Storage Hydropower Plants and enjoy supporting operational teams through technical guidance, training and best practice implementation, we'd be delighted to hear from you.
