The planning side of this role is the point. You will work alongside a Senior Architect on live schemes, take the lead on your own pieces of work, and bring confident design thinking from day one. This is a Part II Architectural Assistant post at a design-led East London practice, on site, four days a week in the studio. If you have reached Part II and want responsibility rather than a seat in the back row, read on. You will be trusted to run with design work, not just support it. The studio is small enough that your contribution shows, and the brief is clear about wanting someone who can take the lead. The PracticeThe practice is a design-led, RIBA Chartered studio based in East London, founded in 2014.The team is around 30 people across architecture, project management, planning, 3D rendering and PassivHaus design.Work spans residential, workplace and education, from small developments through to masterplans. The WorkYou will work on the planning side of projects, assisting a Senior Architect. You will take the lead on your own design work rather than only supporting others. You will bring confident design thinking to live schemes.Residential, education or co-living experience is useful here, though it is not essential.Experience using AI in design work is a bonus. What You NeedYou are a Part II Architectural Assistant, ready for responsibility. You are confident in design and can take the lead on your own work. You do not need ArchiCAD; Revit is fine, as is any 3D modelling tool.Residential, education or co-living experience would be preferred, though not required.Experience with AI in design would be a bonus. You are based within reach of East London for on-site, studio-based work. The OfferThis is a full-time, permanent position. The role is on-site, based four days a week in the East London studio.Flexible working hours apply, with paid overtime under a capped overtime policy.Training, mentoring and CPD sessions are part of studio life.Friday team lunches and bi-annual international team trips are on the calendar.Worth knowing before you apply: this is an on-site role, four days a week in the studio, so it suits someone who wants to be in the room rather than working remotely. The planning focus is real, so if your heart is set on technical delivery or site work, this is not the closest fit. Here is why it is worth the move. You get to lead design work as a Part II, not just assist it, inside a studio that runs projects from small developments to masterplans across residential, workplace and education. You learn from a Senior Architect, your work is visible, and the studio invests in training, mentoring and CPD as you grow. Send your CV and portfolio to apply.
